Best SUV Out there! wait. . . its a SUZUKI?!?!?! by Salvador on 11/01/2007. Trim: 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara Luxury 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Projection head lights. Leather interior, 6 in dash CD changer, guage cluster, Power Moon roof, Keyless entry and start, radio controls on the steering wheel, handleing, and the style
Cons: Gas milage could be better, but its not a major issue. Some HID for those Projector's would have been Awesome too.
Overall review: a 10 out of 10 for sure. First SUV for me and I am very Happy with it.

Take it for a long test ride... by slappythesecond on 05/08/2009. Trim: 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara Premium 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Looks nice. Ours had everything possible for options. Looks nice......
Cons: Very loud inside. No get up and go for the HP it has. Cruise control seems to have a plus or minus of 5 mph. Almost totally useless and I love cruise controls, just not this one.
Overall review: Very sorry we bought it. Very uncomfortable on long rides for both front seat people. Handles like a skate board with an engine. We will be trading it in soon for something a bit heavier and more sound. We should have driven it for much longer than we did and we would have had a better idea that it was a cheap feeling and handling car.

Not Ready for Prime Time by Rob, Halifax NS on 02/08/2008. Trim: 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara Premium 4WD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Suzuki has done a nice job with the size, lots of room inside. Leather seats are comfy and heated, heated dual out side mirrors, Lots of nice touches. The best thing about this vehicle is the keyless entry/start system. As long as you have the key fob in your pocket/purse all you have to do Is touch a small button on the door handle and the driver’s door unlocks. Push the button twice and all the doors unlock. Jump in and start the Grand Vatara And the key is still in your pocket/purse. It doesn’t get better than that for those dark parking lots.
Cons: There is a few things to get used to like !!! Switches that work backwards to all other vehicles… Switches on the driver’s armrest are not lighted Radio and speed controls on the steering wheel are not lighted The Sub Woofer for the stereo is useless No Bass.. But the worst is the Automatic Trans. It downshifts on every little hill And the engine revs to just below RED LINE – even if you are not hard on the gas!!! They really missed the mark on the TRANNY – GET THE MANUAL TRANNY.. I complained to Suzuki regional mgr about the excessive downshifting On even small hills – They said it’s the way it is!!!!!!!
Overall review: I can live with trying to find the window, door lock, cruise control buttons at night. I can live with the cheep sounding “Premium sound system with sub woofer” There is allot to like about this vehicle, but the engine screaming up every little hill on the highway really kills the gas mileage, and I believe it will shorten engine life. The Grand Vatara is claimed to be able to pull 3500 lbs but with the trans down shifting at the first sign of any load, I can’t see how it would be able to pull any weight. Be for warned – The auto trans is NOT THE WAY TO GO on this vehicle….
