Viper kicks like a donkey!!! Lol by Greek on 03/26/2014. Trim: 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Owned 3 years.
Cons: Gas mpg, Lol but i new that. You don't buy a car like this for gas mileage.
Overall review: Vipers are for people that love attention and for a race car for the road. People that complain about gas mpg and dum stuff, like it gets hot in side, then turn the ac on!!! You don't buy this car for everyday use, but you can i have a friend that has over 145,000 on his. He has a 2004 and i have a 2006 blue and white with 5900. I use it for weekends and just for fun. he driver his all the time and only had one problem with it ,was the window driver side. Just will not go up or down a inch when you open and closes the door. I had the same problem, should of been a recall but that's it. I heard 90% of them do that.Just put the window just enuff so the door opens and closes no big deal. He said you can not kill this car he tries all the time, lol One thing is tires are not cheep so if you drive hard or slow put some money away for the new shoes vipers eat them up just like it drinks the gas. Enjoy your viper people if you have one. Great car!!!!

The Ultimate Ripoff by Average Consumer on 04/13/2010. Trim: 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Owned 2 years.
Pros: There is nothing to like about this vehicle. Don't waste your money on a new or used one.
Cons: This is the most outrageously priced car on the planet. There is nothing in this car that is superior to any Chrysler product. It has the same cheap paint, trim, inferior leather and plastic interior as any of Chrysler's cheapest cars. Mechanically it is average to any type performance car. From engine parts to suspension parts you are NOT getting anything better then there cheapest cars. It would be a OK car for for about two thirds less in price.
Overall review: Nice car for about 32000 dollar range. Even at that price Chrysler would be making a fortune on it.

Do your research before buying. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/02/2007. Trim: 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Corvettes are a dime a dozen but the Viper is something that stands out. Very exciting to drive.
Cons: I'm not writing this as a hateful review, just wanting people to know there are some possible problems with these vehicles. The quality associated with this vehicle has made it a bad decision on my part and something I didn't expect from Dodge having owned their trucks in the past. Reading one of the recent posts about window and electrical problems I see my vehicle is no different. My vehicle has been in the shop 7 times in the past several months for numerous problems.
Overall review: Viper mechanics within the Dodge service department are rare and hard to find. Out of three dealerships only one had more than a couple years experience dealing with these cars. It's a good idea to spend the time reading reviews about the car and also calling the dealership to find out the mechanics experience level. Also of note Dodge Corporate center was not helpful working this problem. A fun car to drive but not worth all the problems.

Viper: Road or Track? by my last name is Dodge (no, really! if i was kiddin i would say it was my middle name!) on 01/05/2007. Trim: 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Intoxicating balance of top-speed and acceleration with uncompromising on-a-dime handling and braking power. The car's superb handling characteristics come from the near 50/50 weight distribution, massive tires and very low center of gravity which is made possible by the wide wheelbase. It pulls more lateral G-force than a Porsche 911 GT2, a purpose-built race model not available at dealerships. You want fast? just start in 2nd gear and drop the clutch @ 5000 rpm. So THATS what the headrests are for! Torque-induced whiplash! It jolts my drool glands every time i look at it, and the only thing more appealing than the car will be the driver when he's holding the trophy after a race (wink wink)
Cons: Small trunk and minimal interior but then again, its a race car! If you want a daily driver, go with 4 cylinders. sure, get two Z06's for the price of a Viper, but two Z06's are not any faster than one Z06, and you cant drive both of them at the same time! The Z06 does have a better power/weight ratio, but the viper has a better torque/weight ratio, which is just as important if not more so. Torque gives low end power critical for launching off the line and reaching that high rpm power. If you are in need of a race car and intend to use it as one, you wont regret buying the SRT10. After all, if it wins you races which in turn wins prizes, then the price tag is definitely worth every penny.
Overall review: I first saw the Viper SRT10 in Road and Track, and was amazed by the stats: 500 hp and 500 lbs torque. 0-60 in 2.9s (1st gear), 0-100 in 7s (2nd gear) & 0-100-0 in less than 15s. Top speed in 5th gear was about 190, which left a VERY tall 6th gear to bury every bit of power until the car literally hit terminal velocity (when air resistance is so high it balances out the power of the engine). the top speed was either unknown or unlisted, but one thing was sure: without a trip on the Autobahn it was hard to be certain. Then Dodge was bought by Mercedes Benz. it was a good thing... 0-100-0 test went from 15s to 12s EVEN WITH THE ADDITION OF ABS thanks to a more powerful, higher revving engine (510 hp and 535 lbs/ft, 7000 rpm redline). With added Traction Control (which might be bypassable), the 0-60 time gains a second. TC also helps to stabilize & control such a powerful car. Despite the monstrous rear wheels, it can easily break traction on dry pavement without TC. you've been warn
