Solid but overpriced for what it offered
by AbeLincoln on 04/22/2012.
Trim: 2006 Honda Odyssey Touring w/ DVD/NAV, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
Solid workmanship and very reliable!! I'm @110k and it shows no signs of losing umph or reliability.
Cons:
The touring trim in 2006 was a complete overpriced ripoff!! Starting with the never needed PAX run flat tires to a lazy Susan between the captain chairs in the middle row that is uselessly inaccessible. I had to wait until my 100K warranty was up to rid myself of the bulky, expensive and noisy PAX tires that no one has except the dealer - glad they got sued for that one even though I missed the deadline to be part of it- thank heavens the spare tire slot in the back was still usable. Instead of one dual cigarette light adapters in the front, they could have added an mp3/aux port and for a 40k price tag, Bluetooth would have been fitting.
Overall review:
Great all around minivan! Should you buy the the 06 touring on the used market? Not unless someone else has eaten the cost of de-PAX ing it. Run flat will flatten your pocket with ripoff pricing and a tire that no one will dare touch except the trained (and ungodly expen$ive dealer). Also, if Bluetooth audio for your phone or an mp3 port for music input is something you're after, don't look at this model year, get an 08 that's had it's master break cylinder recall work done.

Pros:
Its got all a family would need out of a car. Its got performance for dad. Safety for mom. Roomy for the kids. Honestly what more can you ask for. The NAV is a great addition.
Cons:
Had a couple problems with the brakes.
Overall review:
Great for traveling and going everywhere with it. It can tow, store a lot of equipment, and its got tons of performance to fuel you. And it has great mileage.

Fun Van
by Bart on 02/17/2010.
Trim: 2006 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/ DVD, Owned 5 years.
1
Pros:
Versitile. This van has endured 18 hour trips to Montana from Iowa with two small children and it was a luxury to drive. The seats are more substantial than other vans, especially the second row, which keep you very comfortable for long cruises. The audio system and DVD player have virtual surround and it is like a traveling theatre.
Cons:
Fuel mileage isn't as good as window sticker claims. Best we have gotten was 26 mpg, normally we get around 23 mpg highway and 20 mpg city. The factory Michelin LX tires' belts went bad 1 at a time over 3 years, causing them to not be balanced. Road noise is higher than most minivans and the sound canceling technology doesn't seem to do anything. Handling in snow, not very good.
Overall review:
This is a reliable, well put together van, with excellent handling for a minivan. Fun to drive, and very versitile. Easy to fold third row seat, and holds standard sheets of plywood or drywall.
