You may want to look at the Dodge b4 purchasing by Always have owned Ford's on 10/24/2006. Trim: 2006 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Best looking 1/2 ton truck on the market today.
Cons: Here are the things that had to be replaced: Front disc's, Throttle body, Rear tail light lens (leaking), outside temp sensor, rebuilt rear end (clutch packs), and a recall for some type of "buytl pad" inside of the sheetmetal by the rear quarter panel.
Overall review: My truck in a 2004. I should have bought the Dodge 1500.

Im a ex ford lover by pa _ford on 05/22/2012. Trim: 2006 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCrew 6.5-ft Box 4WD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: I bought the fx4 model. Loved the way it looked
Cons: Trans pulled at only 900 miles, and replaced front seal. I get it back.. It was still leaking.. The dealer was in some sort of denial about it.. long story short at 1400 miles trans was Pulled again. That time they found bad weld on torque converter causing leak. Front bumper was badly aligned from factory. The 4 wheel drive constantly broke and was always a guess if it was going to engage. The vacuum solenoid That engage the 4 wheel drive goes out like clock work ever 20k . Has been replaced 3 times. Terrible ash tray rattle, Rear window rattle. 3 power window switches replaced
Overall review: Front seat ripped badly at 30 k was replaced by dealer. 2nd seat shot again in another 30k . Rear end started to make terrible roaring sound at 45k. Back seat pockets torn badly but 65k though they were never used ?? Step rails had heavy rust by 60 k . several bolts in engine compartment look heavily corroded by 50k Started to miss in the rain by 50 k. power steering hose at 55k. Entire rack and pinion went at 70k . Breaks front and rear wore very fast.. I liked ford so much that I didn’t even comparison shop.. Went straight to the ford dealer and bought this. Imo something has changed at Ford. Maybe it’s the high level of Mexican sourced parts.. Idk, but I’ve had several g-150 and liked them all till this one, Ford dealer are the worst in the world to deal with . I doubt I’ll ever buy an f-150 again . But am lovin my new Chevy

I'd buy it again by HughesWR on 03/11/2012. Trim: 2006 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 2WD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Best riding truck I've ever owned! More comfortable than the car or van. Put several hundred pounds in the bed and it's even better. It's used primarily for towing a pop-up. The only drawback to the 5.4L for towing a pop-up is that you can too easily forget it's back there and end up driving 80 mph. Almost guaranteed to get a ticket. Great visibility.
Cons: Gas mileage
Overall review: Great truck.

Fantastic Ford FX4 Flairside by Mike F. from Tempe, AZ on 12/14/2011. Trim: 2006 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCab Flareside, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: So much better looking than the comparable Chevy, Dodge & Import pickups. The 'flareside' option gives it a much more muscular look than the standard F-150. Go with the Lariat leather package...absolutely 'top-notch' and much easier interior to keep clean!! Stock stereo sounds wonderful. The quality fit & finish of this vehicle beats the pants off any competition!!
Cons: Stock exaust is too quiet. Couldn't tell when engine was off or on. Only had to spend $300 to get it right (nice little rumble). Plastic cap on gear-shift knob had to be reinstalled (glued). Outside tie-down stations on both left and right rear fenders leak water down side of truck for quite a while after washing...be sure carwash personel air-dry well.
Overall review: One heck of a truck! 5.4 liter takes hills and tows trailers like they're not even there! Don't need 'premium' fuel with this baby either! See quite a few FX4's on the road but...not many FX4 'Flaresides'! If 4 X 4 model (like mine)...running boards really make entering & exiting the truck a lot less work. Back seat - seats 3 full size adults fine. Love this truck!!
