Great fun to drive

Pros:
plenty of power and torque. looks great. fast uphill. 6 speed transmission.
Cons:
turning radius is a bit wide. seats are a little narrow.
Overall review:
i think this is the best road car i ever had. corners tight and sits down on the open road at around 75mph to where it is extremely sensitive to the touch.

Its a lemon

Pros:
the warrenty - it saved me from everything that went wrong with this car.
Cons:
40000 miles - Bad transmission bearings - replace the input & output shafts, and all the bearings. Mitsubishi would not warrenty the transmission unless i paid out of pocket for a new clutch (approx $700). 60000 miles later, same problem, all bearings replaced again, warrentied. No further problems with the transmission. At 85000 miles, driveing 55 mph in 5th gear, a faulty piston in cylinder 4 shattered putting 2 holes in the short block . Warrentied a new short block, out of pocked expense for peripherals, which included a new starter, water pump etc etc. approx 500 dollars out of pocket. Multiple cylinder 4 misfires, especially during rain.
Overall review:
Not impressed, i get the impression that this is a one off for mitsubishi, however, strongly considering not purchasing another mitsubishi again. Mitsubishi service dept. allways blames the driver.

Pros:
There is no prettier car on the road than the Eclipse GT starting in model year 2006, irrespective of price . The fit and finish is flawless, doors panels body seams all coming together perfectly. The handling is exact, the tightness tiger-like. No squeaks, rattles, clunks or unwanted sounds. Just oodles of purr or roar, however you like it, and smiles whle driving it. Loaded with equipment at base price. Neat looking instrumentation, good stereo. Fast and effoient.
Cons:
Visiblity . This is okay while driviing , a little problematic while backing, but managable. Front spoiler is low and will hit bottom when backiing off curbs, etc. Gas mileage around town is not the greatest. But I will take the drawbacks for the positives. You have to be a fairly trim person to get in and out repeatedly without it being inconvenient. Kids have no problems at all. Clean scuff marks on the hard interior plastic appointments with armor all products for that purpose.
Overall review:
Great car. Great reliability. Sturdy. Beautiful styling. Comfortable rocaro-like seats. Even the factory standard seats, made of some kind of tough pleated synthetic/cotton blend, are of outstanding quality. While you are driving it, you feel like you are in the control seat of a jet. You always look back at it after exiting to see how nice it looks. Invariably , you take the long way home to get a little extra time behind the wheel. Even the four cylinder like I have does 100 with ease.

This car is stylish and fast. It's very fun to drive.
Cons:
It has a very wide turning radius and a few blind spots.
