The Ultimate Volvo
by Nancy from Franklin on 12/02/2011.
Trim: 2006 Volvo XC70 Cross Country, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
This is the best Volvo I have owned. I have been a Volvo owner since 1983. This car is cery reliable and a good looking car, as well.
Cons:
Sometimes hard start in the morning only which Volvo can't seem to resolve. Have new battery and computer does not find a problem.
Overall review:
Great car.

Trim: 2006 Volvo XC70 Cross Country, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Volvo styling, Fit and Finish of Interior and Exterior, Low Pressure Turbo, Ground Clearance
Cons:
Replaced Left Front Wheel Bearing and Radiator at 60,000 miles ~$1200
Replacing Bevel Gear Assebmly at 75,380 miles ~$2200
Overall review:
Loyal Volvo owner that is starting to question loyality. Stay away from AWD and you should be fine to 300k miles

Good all around family wagon
by Pete on 07/13/2009.
Trim: 2006 Volvo XC70 Cross Country, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
Seats, traction, quality, safety, space
Cons:
Tires, steering feedback, turning radius
Overall review:
This is the 9th Volvo my wife and I have owned. We still have a 1999 XC70. This car drives and rides better. Very solid and comfortable car. The AWD is great, always feel confident in rain and snow. Less steering response than the older XC. Car can wander very easily. I wish it had different tires, not many choices over the stock Pirelli's. I have the Ocean Edition and it has 17" wheels (vs. stock 16") which look nice and give a stiffer feel.

Solid transportation
by Terry on 06/30/2009.
Trim: 2006 Volvo XC70 Cross Country, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
Safe, snug and reliable.
Cons:
Flipping backs seats down a bit of a chore
Overall review:
Well engineered, reliable and trustworthy. This is now the 10th Volvo we have owned, getting an average of 250,000 from each of the previous cars. Styling changes since 2000 (Have 2000 S80 still) have improved boxy appearance. All 10 Volvos were generally free of major maladies other than usual maintenance. Love the car. HATE Volvo Finance. Use other financial tools.

AWD and Comfortable Seats
by St. Cloud MN on 11/09/2008.
Trim: 2006 Volvo XC70 Cross Country, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
The ride and seats are among the most comfortable out there. The stearing is tighter than the pre-2001 cross country cars. The electronics such as radio, ac/heat, etc... are very easy to use.
Cons:
The milage is much less in real life. Freeway driving at 70 mph results in only 20 mpg. The tries are light truck tires and sized so that it is difficult to replace with better car tires for summer driving. The extra height and tires make the back end of the car feel a bit spongy on the highway vs the older v79 cross country or a typical car. Handles more like an suv.
Overall review:
The ride and awd are the reason to buy this car.
