Good driving experience/great value.
by Hoss on 02/19/2008.
Trim: 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 SE, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
The seating is upright and comfortable for the dirver and front passenger. Access to the front seats is easier than I've seen for any car of similar size and compares favorably with some mid-sized cars. The 5-sp manual works smoothly, and the 2.0 liter engine provides acceptable performance. The car is nimble, and fun to drive. It offers the most important accessories at very reasonable price, and it has a large trunk.
Cons:
It can be a little noisy at high speed. The high profile that makes the Focus roomy on the inside and easy to get in and out of, also makes it subject to buffeting in cross-winds. As you would expect from a sub-compact, the back seat is tight.
Overall review:
I had the car for two years and 50,000 miles. It has been reliable, comfortable, and affordable. I average 32 mpg, and have found that it offers a pleasant enough driving experience to use it for long trips.
I drive about 500 miles/wk, and must have a car that is reliable and effecient, and as middle-aged, arthritic, wide-body, I also needed some comfort. The Focus provides all of that, and was available for $1,500 - 2,000 less than most comparably equipt competitors.

Worth the money

Pros:
I am a happy owner. I got good rebates. Car is wonderful. Exterior and interior colors are just beautiful. The locations of drink cup holders are at the right places and safe. Dearler and sales are the best as my experiences.
Cons:
Little road noise but I will take it for the trade off with price.
Overall review:
I believe this shall be a good car for me for some good years.

Not so good
by Luvalo on 04/20/2013.
Trim: 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 SES, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Small & nimble for city driving.
Cons:
Engine runs rough, all the time. I put in unleaded plus gas, it improved and ran smoother at stops, and on road. BUT..thios is supposed to be an ECONOMY car, and run well on regular.
Overall review:
There are OTHER used car choices. I should have avoided this one.

Great teen or first time owner car.
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 07/09/2012.
Trim: 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 SE, Owned 6 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Great car with very good excelleration and around 38 mpg on the highway. Car handles great on all surfaces which makes it much easier to avoid accidents.
Cons:
Armrest console in the middle broke rather quickly. The 2006 requires a battery that you can buy only at Ford or Good Year. Also the ride is rather noisy. I have replaced the distributer twice (the 2nd one was covered by warranty).
Overall review:
Perfect first car for teens or someone who doesn't drive all that much or leaves their car at a mass transit lot. Best features are it handles extremely well and it very easy to park anywhere. With the exception of the center arm rest console, the rest of the interior has been great and is pretty much like new.
