Highly recommend by Beth , Alb. NM on 11/02/2009. Trim: 2006 Mercury Milan Premier, Owned 3 years.
Pros: It has been extremely reliable I have put over 64K miles on it and it's been great. It's good on gas I always get over 450 miles per fill-up. It's pretty sharp looking and has a great sound system.
Cons: I have the four-cylinder which is good on gas but doesn't have too much power, engine is louder..
Overall review: I recommend this car, it's been great for me. It has apparently beat out Camry and Accord recently in reliability!

Hard to recommend by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/05/2012. Trim: 2006 Mercury Milan V6, Owned 2 years.
Pros: We are very happy with the interior room and comfort. This car is great on trips and seats 4 very well with plenty of cargo room. The car handles decent and stops very well. The V6 engine is more than powerful enough for this size of car and can be quite peppy when wanted. Fuel economy is average 22.7 MPG city/hwy driving.
Cons: The car was not put together very well. Both front door panels are loose and the control panels for the power windows are popping up all of the time. The chrome finish is peeling off of the front inside door handles and the CD player display does not work. We currently are having an engine problem with the variable valve timing solenoids needing replaced. The dealer quoted about $1200, possible more depending on what else they find. A co-worker also owns this same year and model car with the 4 cylinder engine and has complained of the same valve timing issue and interior quality issues.
Overall review: I would not recommend this car in general. It has some expensive repairs that are going to be needed and the overall build quality is medium low. The failure of the CD player is very common I hear, and so is the valve timing issue. I have also looked at a couple of other Milans for sale and they both seem to have defective CD players and the interior chrome finish on the door handles was also peeling.
