Very Practical, but no fun by Elizabeth, PA on 02/04/2008. Trim: 2006 Ford Freestyle Limited AWD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: It is a very comfortable ride. It is great for a family, easy to get kids in and out and have room for stuff. The third row is easy to get to and comfortable. It's not a minivan, or a gas guzzler. It is extremely practical.
Cons: It's not fun to drive. I hate that is has been renamed Taurus X - reminds me of my parents family car. Really I have not much negative to say about the vehicle. We did have initial problems with the paint chipping on the fenders, but it was fixed under warrenty and has not happened again.
Overall review: Overall this is a very reliable car, practical car for our family of four. I was looking for a wagon, but this seemed like a good option. Not as much fun as a Subaru (or as good of gas mileage) but the room is great. We love this car for longer trips.

Okay Family Van but worried about it's reliability. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 07/02/2007. Trim: 2006 Ford Freestyle Limited, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Lots of room. Love the power doors and hatch, great if you have small kids.
Cons: We have had several problems with our new van. Brakes not working properly, oil leak, some electronics not working properly. Hate the location of the DVD player, it blocks the view out the rear view mirror.
Overall review: A good family car but worried how reliable it is going to be in a few years time.

Nice alternative to a gas guzzler by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/31/2006. Trim: 2006 Ford Freestyle SEL, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Nice quiet ride, very roomy. Even my 6'2 husband can sit comfortably in the third row. Also does very well on gas milage for its size.
Cons: Second row locked up and the kids have to climb over the seat to get in the back. Problems with the air bag light going off and gas gauge showing empty when its full.
Overall review: Overall its a good car/SUV, can just be a hassle to get fixed.

Fix the Windshield dashboard reflection by Roman on 10/23/2005. Trim: 2006 Ford Freestyle SEL AWD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Lots of cargo space, car like feel, vehicle is lower to the ground, and easy to get in and out of. Vehicle engine performs well in highway driving.
Cons: Winshield reflection while driving on bright sunny days.Glass reflects back to the driver; the drivers instrument panel reflects, reflects);Middle outline of the dash compartment reflects in the windshield glass;also the outline of the passenger airbag reflects in the windshield glass. I only have 107 miles on the vehicle. I will be addressing this with the dealer, and manufacturer. After a one year production of Ford Freestyle, Ford should have known to correct this annoying glass reflection problem;it's a safety hazard for anyone operating this freestyle vehicle with dashboard reflection, what an annoyance . My Interior is pebble tan.I am hoping the dealership can correct this problem.
Overall review: Would like to see a modification to the engine. Engine has a whining noise, and occurs when accelerating;Definitely there is a problem with the windshield dashboard reflection that needs to be addressed by Ford Motor Company.
