"A True Sport SUV" by New Saab Club Member on 10/01/2007. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-7X Arc, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Unique style, handles like a modest sports car with the space of an SUV. Powerful engine that gives you a low rumble upon starting; to go along with a cloud like ride. This vehicle is a real sleeper in the market place, I feel like I’m the only one who has one and I love it. Gas is standerd for an SUV, I get 16 & about 20 hwy. I just depends on the type of driver you are.
Cons: Console buttons similar to other GMC vehicles, should have been more Saab
Overall review: All the expert reviews putting the style down because it resembles a GMC Envoy etc. don’t know what they are talking about. I have driven other GMC suv and they don’t come close. Reliability, style, power, and amenities; this is the best buy for the money especially if you buy pre-owned. So if you are a follower, this is not the vehicle for you but if you dare to be different, enjoy the ride.

Awesome under-rated SUV by N8 from Minneapolis on 03/18/2013. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-7X Arc, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: The styling is great and due to Saab's departure from the market these vehicles are very undervalued in the used market. For just over $10,000 you can own a very nice used example and it will be a long lasting reliable vehicle as it is based on GMs proven GMT360 platform. Replacement parts are generally interchangeable between this vehicle and other GMT360s making maintenance quite easy and inexpensive compared to other comparable European sports SUVs. This is easily a $25,000 vehicle selling for $10,000. I can't get over how quiet this car is on the road and the V-8 provides ample passing and towing power.
Cons: Not much other than the common faults in the GMT360 platform. It's somewhat jouncy, the lumbar controls are run by plastic gears that tend to break, and the radio/hvac buttons are the cheap standard GM fare. Fuel economy is sub-par. We get about 13-14 mpgs int he winter with mostly city driving. I don't know that you can expect much better from other V-8 SUVs that have the towing capabilities of the Saab 9-7x though so it may not be all that bad. On the highway I can get close to 20 MPGs though.
Overall review: I'd highly recommend this vehicle for anyone who is in the market for an AWD sport utility vehicle. Despite being 8 years old, they still look quite modern with very understated european design cues. The V-8 sounds great, there is a lot of room, the ride is excellent, road noise is nearly non-existant, and these vehicles are rare so you'll have something unique that gets frequent comments. I'll say it again there isn't anything in the used car market that comes remotely close to offering the value/dollar that the 9-7x does. It is and remains a highly under-valued reliable vehicle in the used car market.

satisfied by SD on 02/03/2006. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-7X Linear, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: Roomy, fun to drive. You don't have all these "add-on" option packages that jack up the price. It comes well equipped standard. The ride is firm & very quiet on most road conditions. Radio plays great! Kids love the rear sear air & radio controls.
Cons: Looks exactly like the Buick Rainier from the side & back. Flimsy in-dash cup holder is fun to show the kids, but wouldnt actully try to put a cup in it. Seems to get a little clumsy on rough roads.
Overall review: Classy interior appointments & many standard features make this SUV an excellent value for the price. My last SUV had much less for almost the same price.

Pros: Luxury vehicle with comparable features but better pricing compared to vehicles with similar amenities.
Cons: The radio antenna is the screw on type that protrudes from the passenger side, front hood.

Great purchase! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/07/2005. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-7X Linear, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros: Love the look, we're the first I've seen in our area to have one. Very pleased overall so far... Has a luxurious feel to the interior, you don't feel like you're in a tank, but you also feel very safe and secure. I don't feel like it looks much like the Trailblazer, no matter how it is being compared. This is a SAAB, and I absolutely love it! LOTS of room, smooth drive, love this SUV.
Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but it truly is average among the competitors
Overall review: Very happy we purchased this SUV. Would recommend to others.
