Bring Back the Montero by An MSN Autos Consumer on 07/31/2008. Trim: 2005 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, Owned 3 years.
Pros: For the Midwest weather conditions I find no better SUV. Handles great in snow and rain. The appearance is unique and many passenger in my Montero have commented that they love the size of the sunroof.
Cons: It could use a V8 if you tow a lot, however the V6 is has good MPG's
Overall review: Well worth the money!

Best serious off road vehicle for money. a very popular vehicle in all by Luckyman2 on 02/03/2008. Trim: 2005 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Overall vehicle quality and design, theses vehicles are now thr vehicle of choice for the provate secrity forces in Iraq. Which says a lot about it's reliability and repitaton. it's the working man choice for transportation in a war zone. This vehicle is very popular everywhere but North America. Probably because it does not advertise in the popular auto magazines.
Cons: Could use a V8 engine was offered for more towing power.
Overall review: Excellent vehicle for the serious off roader.

Great 4x4 SUV, One of the Best Used SUV's to Buy by Off Roader from San Juan, Puerto Rico on 03/22/2009. Trim: 2005 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Elegant, Very Capable Off-Road 4x4 Vehicle, Safe, Spacious, Stable, Comfortable Ride, OEM aftermarket parts available everywhere, Easy to Fix, Simple Engineering, OEM Parts are Inexpensive, Built Like a Tank, 5 Speed Semi-Auto (Sportronic) Transmission, Better than a JK Jeep, and Almost as Capable as the JK Rubicon. Love the fact that I can go off-roading in comfort.
Cons: Not many features and/or options, difficult to find aftermarket off-road parts, and if you find them they are very expensive, Weighs Like a Tank, Compared with Similar Vehicles Not the Best MPG Out There, No V8 Option
Overall review: In the used market they can be found at great prices, have enough power for highway and off-road use, but a V8 option would have been most convenient. On the road the ride is very comfortable and enjoyable. I am an aggresive driver, and like the fact this truck is very well built, but at the same time it could use more HP. If you, like my wife, drive normally this truck has enough power, and will give decent MPG for its class. I regularly use it off-road in rough terrain, and it has never got stuck nor missed a beat, it's 4x4 system is very advanced, ABS and traction control help a lot in difficult situations, and it's 5 speed Sportronic transmission gives you the advantages of manual shifting w/o clutch. I purchased this vehicle instead of 2005 Land Rover LR3 in same conditions with almost the same mileage. Don't regret it, and saved tons of money. They are not sold anymore in the USA, because at $40K you can buy a similar SUV with more equipment (HomeLink, On-Board Comp, etc.)
