Engine blew within 10 days by Sara on 01/31/2012. Trim: 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Looks great, drives great

Cons: Had the car for 10 days and it threw a rod which completely blew the engine. Granted the car had 100k miles on it but The car gave no indication that there was anything wrong with it and we were 400 miles away from home when it happened. I know we have to account for previous owners misusing the vehicle but I must say I was very disappointed. I expected more from Hyundai.

Overall review: This has left a very bad impression on me.

My "Go Buggy" by Jo from N C Kansas on 10/12/2009. Trim: 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Steers and handles very smoothly and tightly.

Cons: The attachment point for front seat belts is very difficult to reach and click in with one hand. The cup holders and "junk slots" in the front console are too far back for comfortable reaching, especially for the driver.

Overall review: I would certainly purchase this vehicle again. Any faults are very minor and easily overcome.

Good for the Price by JonnyPaper on 10/24/2005. Trim: 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 3.5L 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Good acceleration. Smooth, quiet ride. Warranty.

Cons: A little sluggish going uphill at times. Occasional rough shift from drifting to acceleration. The gas mileage, so far, has been disappointing. Also, I agree with other reviews regarding the integrity of Hyundai salespeople.

Overall review: Overall, I would recommend the Santa Fe to anyone who wants a good vehicle for the price.
