Don't trust the all green on the reliability ratings. Trust the avg rating by Edgar on 04/08/2012. Trim: 2005 Land Rover Freelander SE3, Owned 7 years.

Pros: Front look .
Cons: A lot mechanical issues.
Overall review: Do your self a favor and don't get one of this especially under 72000 miles because it requires a time belt change then that the dealer wants $2900 to do the job. There's a reason why these cute suv's are so cheap right now compared to others of same year .MSN Reliabilty sorry you having all green with no issues on this car is very misleading. So look at the avg custmer ratings compared to other suv of the same year . Mine also has a lot of minor issues and even some safety issues like the key comes off even when is not in park in a couple of ocassions i came back to my car and it wasn't on park ,very scary. This was recalled on some other Freelander but not mine, lucky me.

LAND ROVER-SHAME ON YOU! by DG-Alexandria VA on 11/14/2010. Trim: 2005 Land Rover Freelander SE, Owned 4 years.

Pros: Interior is nice
Cons: Worse car ever! I had three engines before I reached 40k miles, basically every 15k miles...new engine. The problems don't end there. This vehicle has to be taken into land rover on average, every 3 months for something that cost be at least $2,000. .HORRIBLE CAR, HORRIBLE QUALITY!! LAND ROVER SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
Overall review: I have been told by 2 land rover dealerships that the freelander is a piece of junk, built horribly, and that everyone has this problem. The dealerships don't care because they are franchised and to resolve any issues you have to call land rover usa. Land Rover USA actually acts like having 3 engines and constant repairs is nothing! I have probably spent close to $20k in repairs and that is after my warranty and extended warranty has paid a portion. When I call the service dept at the dealership here, they recognize my telephone number! They know my name, my family....that is how often I am there!!! I have tried everything to get rid of this car...EVERYTHING! PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!! I AM LIVING A NIGHTMARE! This really should be illegal

Nice Small SUV by Satisfied owner on 09/04/2007. Trim: 2005 Land Rover Freelander SE, Owned 2 years.
Useful?
Pros: Interior is super lux. Nice driving position, easy access to center console. Easy to use 4wd controls. Two tone interior looks great and stays cool in the sun. A/C is strong. Not too much road noise on the Highway. Land Rover of Guilford CT. is top notch in the service department. Will buy another Rover just to deal with them again.
Cons: Had a computer glitch with Hill Descent control. Fixed after two tries, but had a Range Rover loaner for free, so no problem to me. I wish there was alittle more power, but with the cost of gas today, everything is a trade off
Overall review: I see alot of people had alot of problems. Completely opposite to my experience and the hundreds of people in my town with Land Rovers of all years.
