I would recommend owning one. by bigblue72 on 04/24/2012. Trim: 2005 Saturn Relay FWD 3, Owned 7 years.
Pros: Awesome vehicle so far with only a few small problems. Love the cargo area to haul stuff, like my old radios and the kids back and forth to college. Decent on gas.
Cons: The only thing I didnt like is the horrible ride. Its not very nimble over bumps and the inside noise level is poor.
Overall review: Great vehicle. I would buy again.

Very Happy With My Saturn by David - Seattle on 02/25/2011. Trim: 2005 Saturn Relay FWD 3, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I bought this vehicle used and have owned for about half a year, it has 105K miles on it. It is a very "un-minivan" looking minivan. The interior is in outstanding condition. Interior is well laid out and very comfortable. The paint has held up very well for six years - there is barely a chip in the front end from all those miles. Traction control has gotten a work out this winter due to bad road conditions and the van has proven very capable in the snow, even with just FWD. If you can find a clean one that is well cared for in the used market you can get a great deal. Four speed automatic is silky smooth - and GM 3.5 with 4-speed auto is as reliable as the sunrise.
Cons: Heat is a bit weak on the coldest days. Wallows in low speed turns in particular. The rear floor is slightly sloped downward so when unloading cargo sometimes stuff falls out on the ground as it has slid to the rar liftgate. Steering feel can be excessively heavy at low speed, like in parking lots. Rear visibility with the three row of seats up is awful, the headrests block out almost the entire rear window. Head rests also cause significant blind spots on the left and right, even turning your head results in a blocked window between the C and D pillar. Fuel economy is weak.
Overall review: I haven't had any of the problems other people indicate, and the vehicle history does not indicate previous owners have had any issues. Don't get one without a working backup assist system, and read up on how it works. The engine power is adequate but this is no speed demon. At speed it handles well carving onramps and overall driving, at low speed it really wallows in turns. The front and second row seats could use more thigh support, but not uncomfortable. Very good ergonomics, things are very well laid out. The steering wheel is HUGE, it feels like you're driving a truck or a bus. Interior materials have held up very well, but GM has a lot of nerve calling that seating surfaces leather. Everyone who gets in finds it to be an extremely nice vehicle with lots of storage. It has been a great performer in bad weather. The ride and interior cabin noise is amazing - it floats (in a positive way) on the highway and dampens all bumps and dividers.

Frustrated with my Saturn! by Frustrated from MA on 07/06/2010. Trim: 2005 Saturn Relay FWD 3, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Excellent room and seats are comfortable. DVD entertainment system is great for the kids.
Cons: Sliding doors don't work properly. In the dealership and body shop for 1 month and problem is still not fixed. Now 1 sliding door will not work at all. Called the NTSB and Saturn since this seems to be a common issue based on all of the reviews and they would not provide any resolution. Saturn wants close to $800 to fix the issue and they won't garauntee it can be fixed. Lights flicker at night and had to upgrade to super bright lights in order to see. Lift gate hrdraulics failed. Replaced front and rear brakes and battery. AM radio reception is very poor. I have only had the vehicle for 7 months!!
Overall review: I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone other than a mechanic who wants the problems to fix themselves.
