mr reliable by sprung from pittsburgh on 03/10/2012. Trim: 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S, Owned 7 years.
Pros: if you are buying this car obviously your not doing so for its speed, you are buying it for its efficiency and reliability. Before i owned this car i had a 99 cougar and a 96 grand prix. They both seemed to have problem after problem. This car on the other hand has been a blessing. I did need a transmission at 175,000 miles but that was due because of age and misuse, i beat it up pretty good. I can imagine a more reliable car than this one. I am extremely happy and it has 210,000 miles and counting. I am shopping around for a new car but only because its time. I am a nissan fan for life and will drive nissans forever.
Cons: sometimes it takes to long to start, and small cosmetic things seem to break easily but i am hard on things.
Overall review: awesome car would recomend to anyone. Nissan driver for life

Pros: it handles very well. also the mileage is great.
Cons: it takes very little to leave a ding in the body
Overall review: Bought it new and would buy it again. It is reasonably roomy and handles well. it also fits in small parking spaces my truck would never fit in.

Demon Car by Memphis TN on 09/09/2010. Trim: 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8, Owned 4 years.
Cons: This is a demon possessed vehicle. Bought this car with 10,000 miles on it. I have had problems with this car since I drove it off the lot. The first problem was that the car would just not start for no reason. Have had to fix the heater, tune up twice in one year, something crazy with the fuel system that needs replacing, trunk latch won't open. Took car to dealer to get fixed, they couldn't fix it, ended up going to the neighborhood mechanic. There were some problems, can't remember them all - too many to count. Spoke with other Nissan drivers, they are also unhappy. Let me tell how I finally fixed it, GOT RIDE OF IT. Will NEVER NEVER NEVER buy another Nissan.
Overall review: Terrible car. People say don't buy a car built on Friday, Monday, or during the holiday. Mine must have been started on Friday before Christmas and finished Monday after Christmas. They worked on mine in between the Christmas party.

Decent car by BigJ on 04/15/2011. Trim: 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I own the 2005 Special Edition and it's performance is very average. The handling isn't the greatest but it's good for a car in its class. I got the manual transmission so I can't give a reasonable review on acceleration but it does accleerater fast with the right driver. The interior has been set up very efficiently there is not a lot of wasted space. I'm a mechanic and I went to check the oil and it was still fine after 6 months! This car is very reliable.
Cons: The interior is not very spacious. Being a taller person I would not recommend to anyone over 6 feet. The hood will dent easily so don't sit on it. The factory battery isn't very good if you want to run a gps and other accessories while you are not driving so I would recommend upgrading the battery if that is you. In that back seat if you have a tall driver it turns into a 4 seater. If you are looking to tow anything forget about it it's not that type of car.
Overall review: I think that all in all this is a good reliable car. I would not recommend the car to anyone who is tall but for the average person this is a car that can get you from point A to point B and is fun to drive around.

Best car for gas mileage, and long term ownership. by John from Virginia on 11/13/2010. Trim: 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 S, Owned 5 years.
Pros: 38 MPG town and 40-42 MPG highway, great handling, cold AC in summer time, good heat in winter time(unlike 2006 Ford Focus). Lot's of adjustments on seat for long trips. Good room in front seats, compared to other cars in same class (more than Focus, more than Cavalier, and more than Toyota). Parts are cheap if wrecked. No maintence issues at all even with 80K miles. Nothing except tires and oil changes.
Cons: cramped back seat, but rarely use anyway. Accident prone, 3 different times I have been hit, by someone else (or a deer). Dealer service is OK, but is improving. Different class than dealing with Ford or Chevy - 10X better service - but still does not meet expectations. Oil filter location needs to be changed, directly over axle, and exhaust pipes. CD changer needs to be moved, always in the way of cup holders. Hinges in trunk get in the way frequently when trying to haul stuff in trunk. Why 16" tires? 15" ones would have been fine, and a LOT cheaper in the long run.
Overall review: I have a S special edition, great stereo, nice quiet interior, VERY VERY VERY reliable. Expensive 16" tires that wear out about every 40-45K miles. No one makes decent tires in the OEM size, stepped up one size and cost is about 20-30% lower.
