Awesomeness despite GM by MOTU on 06/23/2012. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-5 SportWagon Aero, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: quick and comfy
Cons: Coolant bypass valve and ABS Control Module
Overall review: I like it alot. Safe, Fun to drive Kiddie mobile that'll go when you put your foot down. BTW get the 2.3L 4cyl. not the 3.0 V6.

Dream car by Cindy in NH on 01/24/2008. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-5 SportWagon Linear 2.3t, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Drives like a dream. Handling is excellent, responsive and fast. I love the front end and grill.
Cons: Some interior materials are less than the quality I would expect, particularly carpet grade. Not sufficient road clearence for location with snow, New Hampshire.
Overall review: Wonderful car, a pleasure to drive. Just not practical for my locale.

Saab story by Rebecca on 12/12/2005. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-5 SportWagon Arc 2.3t, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The Saab 9.5 wagon is roomy and very comfortable. The crash tests show it to be a safe car.
Cons: Despite several trips to the dealer, we have not been able to resolve two serious problems. #1 low gear sputter -- when moving at very slow speeds, the transmission sputters and shakes sporadically. This problem was not solved by a "software update" the mechanics tried. It ruins what would otherwise be a smooth ride. #2 possesed windsheild wipers -- the wipers will randomly go beserk. They do not respond correctly to changes in speed or turn off as requested. So far they have consistently turned on, however we have low confidence they will turn on reliably in the future. This problem persisted after we replaced the wiper electronics.
Overall review: We leased several cars from the 9.5 series because they are economical, safe, and comfortable near-luxury vehicles. After the problems we've experienced with the 9.5 wagon, we will not buy or lease another Saab. Perhaps we were just unlucky this time. Nothing is more frustrating than random mechanical problems that are never solved.

Good looking, different, sporty and reliable by New Parent from San Bruno on 08/06/2005. Trim: 2005 Saab 9-5 SportWagon Aero, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Great ride, lots of room, not a BMW, supposedly high reliability (consumer reports), GPS is really good and works in tunnels (monitors wheel rotation)
Cons: I'd like the brakes to be more grippy (less soft). The reason that I didn't give the car a ten on quality is that the loudspeaker cover popped out on the dash board. But the car has a very solid feel otherwise
Overall review: We have owned the Aero for two months and 3000 miles and love the car. Powerful, yet economical. Good looking an uncommon. Lots of features. And we got a good price too, as part of the "employee discount" program
