The Ultimate Disaster by Keith Coughlan on 07/28/2006. Trim: 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 1SB, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Nothing! Traded 2002 Montana Only test drove around block big mistake.
Cons: First trip on highway at night the lights began to flicker, bad alternator. Terrible road noise. Travels badly with any wind. Make sure nothing is coming the other way before you pass. Gutless. Make sure you take your pliers when you have to take out your gold fillings when you go to buy the 17 inch tires that come standard on it.
Overall review: Although van looks good General Motors has made a big mistake with this vehicle. Since purchasing one year ago have had to have tie rod implaced, onstar system replaced, cd player replaced, sliding doors adjusted twice. In the process of trading for a Toyota Sienna, no resale value on the Montana

Great styling and Options by Dan from North Dakota on 05/26/2006. Trim: 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 AWD 1SB, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The standard options are awesome, the styling is excellent for me it feels more like a cross over vehicle to me than a van. Traction is Awesome in the snow with the AWD. I really like the handling and ride and it has been a very quiet vehicle for us. We have been averaging about 18 MPG overall we get about 19-22 on the Hwy.
Cons: We have had repeated trouble with the automatic sliding doors. It has less room behind the 3rd row than we had with our Grand Caravan. The v-6 doesn't pull well felt like I was dragging a parachute when I had a small snowmobile trailer hooked up to it. The visibility out of the back is blocked by the head rests.
Overall review: If you don't plan on pulling anything would be a great vehicle with great options. The kids love the DVD on long trips with the wireless headphones it's really nice.

A very good van for us. by Gary on 03/15/2014. Trim: 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 1SA, Owned 9 years.
Pros: Great engine. Never had any problems with it. Had the towing package and had no problem towing my camper or utility trailer. The body itself was solid and rust free. Smooth ride.
Cons: Interior material as it spotted very easily with any liquid. Seats in the rear (captain and rear bench) are very heavy which made them difficult to remove. Problems with rear sliding door contacts and always had to keep cleaning them. Had problems with the ABS (replaced once). Had numerous front end problems over the years. Headlights always seemed to flicker slightly.
Overall review: Overall this was a good van for vacations and everyday use. Just traded it in at 150,000 miles because the ABS light was coming on again and needed some front end work again. We had purchased this van new and had it for 9 years.
