Pure pleasure by Randy on 01/10/2010. Trim: 2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Very fun to drive.handling and power excellent.
Cons: Rear seat hard to get into, but plenty of room once you get in.Some original Dana rear ends had gear whine when decelerating at 50 Mph.The dealer changed mine under warranty.Wish it had better styling ,more like my 1970.
Overall review: A real pleasure to drive.Turns a lot of heads. It's my daily driver in the summertime, stored for the winter.Comfortable on long trips ,exhilarating on short ones between lights.Would never sell it.

The best value for any used world-class sports coupe with real back seats. by Chas from Seattle on 04/19/2008. Trim: 2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I bought a 3 year old GTO because the test drive sold me and the price was amazing. Great gas mileage when keeping the revs low (with 6 speed). Fun to drive yet OK to be stuck in traffic with. Handles nicely given the smooth ride. Very comfortable for 6'5" 250 lbs driver. You know how fast it accerates.
Cons: Would prefer more luxury amenities, and everyone knows the syling could be better. e.g. could have used more winning classic GTO retro stying cues
Overall review: Anyone looking for a used sports coupe must look at the 2005 GTO. They depreciated to a point where their value has likely levelled off, given their high intrisic value - 400 hp /395 lb torque, Corvette drive train and quality components. Wouldn't be surprised if they gain value in the years to come like my former '86 Buick Grand National did. I enjoy having a unique ride with amazing factory performance and comfort. Super acceraration, great predictable handling, and a pleasure to drive relaxed - within the speed limits. Reliability on this car was apparenltly great: Warranty claims show only one minor incident - replace the windshield wiper's washer reservoir. Requiring owners to use synthetic oil helps keep engine health good too.

Pros: great accelration and handling with only a few after market parts she rips the doors off most cars on the street
Cons: no trunk space .... cup holders when used are in the way of making quick shifts
Overall review: love this car don't know why sales were so poor

Great Muscle Car by An MSN Autos Consumer on 10/09/2007. Trim: 2005 Pontiac GTO Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Great engine, six speed manual transmission shifts better than a S2000 that I drove. Interior feels as nice as a Cadillac or BMW. Faster than a new GT Mustang. You can put snow tires on it and easily drive in the winter time.
Cons: Car feels a little big and heavy. Styling is a bit plain looking. No fuctional Ram-Air.
Overall review: The 2005 GTO is a good choice if your looking for a high performance rear wheel drive car. The engine is one of the best V8's ever made. It will out accelerate almost any 1960's muscle car and handle much better too.
