BMW guy by An MSN Autos Consumer on 03/29/2012. Trim: 1999 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: I have found myself taking the Expe as I call it over my BMW for with a bad back it is very comfy. It does not get good milage but I think most people know it before buying. I bought it to tow a small tent trailer. No problems with the 5.4 litre you don't know it is there and does not weigh enough to change mileage. 5.4 has plenty of power and if surprisingly fast at acceleration. Take care of it, and it will take care of you, plenty of used parts if you need to find them
Cons: Gas mileage
Overall review: Great for people mover or towing

237,000 and counting! by Mary G., New Hampshire on 10/18/2009. Trim: 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD, Owned 10 years.
Pros: 237,000 and counting! How many vehicles on the road today have that kind of mileage? This SUV has all of the creature comforts you could want and I consider it my teenagers' first line of defense when driving. I never get tired of driving this 10 yr. old SUV and hope to purchase another when this one finally goes - we're hoping for 300,000 miles!
Cons: Gas mileage leaves a lot to be desired - especially when gas prices sky rocket and it costs almost $100 to fill the tank.
Overall review: The good out weighs the bad. If you've got to spend a bit more on gas to know that you family is in a safe, reliable vehicle - then the extra cost is certainly worth piece of mind.

Great suv for hauling dogs around! by Cgrow from KS on 11/28/2009. Trim: 1999 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Safety was my #1 concern and this vehicle is very safe. Handles great, turn radius is amazing for the size of the vehicle. Handles in the snow/ice awesome. Love the huge cargo area with the third seat out and the second row seats fold completely flat. The heated seats are a great asset, however the driver side on mine has gone out at 140,000 miles. The seperate ac/heat for the back of the vehicle is a nice feature when hauling dogs as well as the side windows that flip out. Love it!!
Cons: Gas mileage obviously, generally get 14-15 mpg. highway and in town. Heated seat on drivers side needs to be fixed, and the heater for the entire vehicle is malfunctioning. I have read other reports on another site of other Expeditions having the same heater problems. Back hatch is heavy to shut.
Overall review: I've had my expedition for only 2 1/2 years and have not had any mechanical trouble with it at all. I love it!! Bought it with 113,000 miles on it, presently has 140,000 miles on it and still going strong and still looks great!!

Great buy suv by CPT on 12/06/2006. Trim: 1999 Ford Expedition XLT 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: It's looks and size
Cons: driver side handle to open the door is to near and robbs on the leg and it's anoying
Overall review: The feel of the road is pretty good and the power is there when you need it the sound of the motor is pretty beefy sounding when you add a performance muffler on AND GAS USAGE IS NOT BAD EVEN FOR MY 5.4L ENGINE.
