The best chevy truck I owened by An MSN Autos Consumer on 08/18/2008. Trim: 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 2500 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: This ride has all the power and leg room you need. It is great on gas for the engine size and horse power.
Cons: I am not really fond of the plastic sides over the doors and tires. When I get a new one it will not have that on it.
Overall review: Great truck for room. Has all the pulling power you will need.

Big, comfortable, and very useful by Dogbert on 01/03/2008. Trim: 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4WD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Big, comfortable, and very useful.
Cons: Needs better/stronger brakes. Independent suspension would help handling. Something better than the 4 speed transmission would be nice; where is the GM six speed? Memory seats need to be automatic; they only work when one pushes the button while the vehicle is in park. Backup camera should be standard equipment. All windows should have auto down/up option. Better gas mileage would be nice; getting 18 highway and 14 city. GM, please add a MPG optimized clean diesel option!
Overall review: My family loves this truck/suv!

Avalanche Cry Baby by Paul from RI on 01/06/2006. Trim: 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Very nice looking Big Truck. Great Comfort for a truck.
Cons: Had 3 repair trips to the dealer for a leaking rear Midgate and Window. Water coming in from rear and under all the carpet. GM can't figure it out.
Overall review: Overall would purchase this vehicle again if GM admits to a problem with leaking water into CAB area and they correct the problem.
