A Great Car by Richard from Texas on 07/04/2011. Trim: 2005 Toyota Camry LE, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Performance is adequate and the durabily and quality of materials are excellent. Gas mileage is better than EPA estimates and the car is superb on the road. The automatic transmission is flawless. The car is six years old, runs like new and has required only routine maintenance. Toyota provides many features available on other makes costing $10K more. Light control, cruise control setup and features making it difficult to lock keys in the car and remote door open are especially nice as standard features. I particularly like the reliability of the Toyota Camrys I have owned over the past twenty years which seems to be denigrated by many of the professional reviewers.
Cons: I like the size of the trunk, but the trunk opening height is too narrow. The liquid crystal instrument displays are hard to read. The only operating glitch is the slight engine hesitation upon hard acceleration which is a software problem common to that generation car of any make.
Overall review: See above for liked features. I must heartily recommend this car because I appreciate driving the car rather than repeatedly putting it into the shop as has been my experience with other makes.

STICK TO 2001 by LUCKY MAN on 06/08/2011. Trim: 2005 Toyota Camry SE, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Good looking, stylish, comfortable interior, well designed dash board, and roomy trunk. Good handling and turns.
Cons: Experiencing frequent problems with brakes. Poorly designed wheels that rust often. Cost of maintenance is a killer! One brake job will cost $1,000 easy. Every 3,000 mile maintenance can ruin you with $500 to $1,000 maintenace costs at a dealership.
Overall review: I have 2001 Toyota Camry with 200,000 miles and 2005 Toyota Camry with 100,000 miles. 2001 Toyota Camry can easily outdo 2005 Toyota Camry at every level including cost conscious people like myself. I cannot figure out how they have come down so far...

One of the Best Cars for the Money by Vick on 12/13/2010. Trim: 2005 Toyota Camry LE, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Comfort, even with cloth seats. Smooth transmission and smooth ride. Great on the highway.
Cons: Very light/mushy brake pedal. Basically have to rely on vision solely when braking.
Overall review: Great family and commute car.

mpkengarde by Mike on 12/10/2010. Trim: 2005 Toyota Camry XLE V6, Owned 5 years.
Pros: This car is comfortable, economical and reliable.
Cons: The engine and transmission do not work well together. The engine management system falters which causes a hesitation from rest. Also, the transmission slips and slides during upshifts and hesitates during down shifts. I took it back to the dealer a number of times and was informed that is natural for this car. I had a 1992 Camry which was the best car that I ever owned so I did not consider any other manufacturers when I bought this car. I would not recommend buying a V6 Camry this model year.
Overall review: Stay away from the 2005 Camry with V6 model. Toyota has a bug in the engine and transmission management system.
