Best Small Car Out There!
by Joel from Tampa, fl on 08/07/2005.
Trim: 2005 Scion xA Hatchback, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
If you are buying this car for speed forget about it. I do love this car though because its good on gas, it is comfortable to drive, and for some reason, you can fold down the seats and fill you car with things more than you can fill a Toyota Corolla. This car is small but when you fold those back seats it is very spacious. I am very impressed with this car. It takes me from point A to point B like any other car. It drives well, good on gas, i love the style, and this car is just awesome and cool.
Cons:
The only thing i dont like about this car is that you cant go to fast on it because of its Horse Power but i drove almost 600 miles going from one state to the next it drove fine on 75 to 85 miles/hour. Its a city car.
Overall review:
For people that need a good car with in a 10k to 14k dollars budget. This car would be awesome. You will have fun with it, you will enjoy it everyday. Its a cool car, cool style, good on gas, the crash rate is good. I strongly recommend it. Its a buy in my opinion.

Pros:
Love the ability to zip around in this car in town---it just moves around so easily. Easy to park, does really well in rain/snow/ice, looks great/stylish in a unique way, is a wonderful value, and doesn't eat up the gas.
Cons:
Pretty rough/bumpy ride in the backseat for people when going at a higher speed, such as on the interstate. Doesn't accelerate real quickly when getting onto the interstate.
Overall review:
Overall I love this car and am very happy we made this purchase. I feel "zippy" when jaunting around in the xA. The small "cons" I listed are pretty minimal when I compare to the "pros" and my overall satisfaction in this car. I get stopped by people in parking lots all the time complimenting me on the car and asking me about it. Plus....so far I have never "lost" the car in a parking lot~~~it is very easily identified as mine due to it's uniqueness!

Pros:
This was the best purchase I have made. Can't go wrong with Toyota products. Very reliable and fun to drive. Still love it and I have owned it from 2005. No problems and still runs great. Fantastic on gas and overall an exceptional vehicle for its size.
Cons:
The trunk is small.
Overall review:
Economical and practical buy. I would purchase another Scion product for my next car.

"The only car you'll ever need"
by A.Z.Utilitarian on 06/27/2009.
Trim: 2005 Scion xA Hatchback, Owned 3 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Fun to drive. 90,000+ miles and zero trouble. I drive 30,000+ miles/year and do all my own routine maintenance, which is VERY EASY to do on this car. Like maybe the engineers actually thought about it beforehand. Mileage varies from 25 mpg @ 90+mph to 40+ at a more sedate 55-60mph. The A/C even works well here in Arizona on the 115 degree days if you keep it on recirculate. The typical firm, well designed Toyota seats have never caused me any discomfort, and my commutes are typically 5-7 hours one way. The upright seating position is wonderful for the "mature" driver, as is the centrally located instrument pod. It's about 3 feet away from your eyes, so you don't need your glasses to see it.
Cons:
Only produced for 3 years ( 2004 - 2006 ).The idiots at Scion succumed to the "bigger every year" stupidity that killed lots of nice American cars. The xD is a pig by comparison. I LOVE blowing by them on the interstate.
Overall review:
Best car I have ever owned. I put Kumho "745" 165/80R-15's on it and gained about 5% overdrive and unbelievable high-speed stability. The longer tire contact patch makes a big improvement on unimproved or dirt roads too, important to me as a lot of my work takes me into rural areas. A K&N oiled gauze air filter catches a bit more dust than the factory paper unit, which was quite good. The rear seats fold down to make a fairly large cargo hauling space. I brought home our new dryer in mine, with the rear gate closed too. For a practical work/commute/daily driver vehicle you cannot beat it.
