True Stang... by Andy Idaho on 09/07/2009. Trim: 1997 Ford Mustang Convertible, Owned less than 1 year.
5
Pros: Nice style for the year. Car has history for being a mustang. Like the dash and seats. Fast car for just the V-6 3.8L. For the price its as good as it gets. Reason why ford is selling mustags still. Great steiring and love it when the top is down. Just got it 8 months ago and the car doesnt have any problems, great for 140000 miles.
Cons: Wish it was a little bigger inside like the new ones. Bumpers r wimpy looking and wish ford made their rims bigger, mines just 15 in. and the car should have 17 in. Gues I will have to buy custom wheels.
Overall review: Great car for the price. Ford is doing somthing write. Nice convertable. Fast, fun, and hey its a mustang.....

1997 Mustang GT by Brienna from MN on 09/19/2005. Trim: 1997 Ford Mustang GT coupe, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Acceleration, performance, little trouble. It's just been a great car, maybe not too economical but very worth it.
Cons: Interior is kind of cheaply put together.
Overall review: I'm very happy with my Mustang and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. They're just fun little cars. Has given me very few problems. I'd recommend anyone buy one.

Fun, fun car - get one now! by Carole - Orlando, FL on 06/26/2002. Trim: 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible, Owned 2 years.
1
Pros: Front end & hood styling is aggressive but not obnoxious, like some modern "muscle" cars. Throaty exhaust, espec. during hard acceleration, is great. (Makes you feel better going around those clueless left laners.) Vocal & satisfying. Hand-built engines - the 2 guys' names that built it are stamped on your engine. Ltd. edition-not dime a dozen. Go to a Cobra website & find the build combo that had the fewest made, for better value holder. (Mine's triple black - more common for '97 Cobras)
Cons: 1. Mine: daily driver, no racing/mods. Great top end, but capable of more response, esp. off line. Stock gears underperform, compared to potential. (305HP-should be rocket off the line). Many owners modify gear ratio (@own risk, re:warranty). I'm changing to 3:73 gears ASAP ($400-$500avg) -willl be so much better & in line w/capability. Use reputable speed shop. 2. Driver's seat doesn't travel back enough for comfy driving, even for me (5' 8" female). Tall guy friends driving are scrunched up. Can extend 2" (maybe more) - check corral. net for good info on this & other stuff. My solid black interior much more "matched" than tan/black.
Overall review: My only "complaints", and both "fixable". Otherwise, love it! Get one! Too fun!! If you don't need or want a Cobra, I have also had a GT convertible ('85 and '89), and GTs are great, too, also tons of fun. Drove the '89 to 110K miles, was still going strong w/ only the usual mntc. stuff when I sold. p.s. If you get a '99 Cobra, make sure the warranty work has been done, re: engine output/HP - Ford had to retrofit the '99s to produce the advertised HP. (Think it was the '99 - it's late & I'm tired). Again, corral . net is a great source for all kinds of Mustang info.

Nice Sports Car by A CarPoint Consumer on 05/28/2002. Trim: 1997 Ford Mustang GT coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: Nice looks, lots of fun to drive, good sports car, will beat pretty much any four banger out there with no problem, take most sixes also, not bad for an engine with almost 90,000 miles on it. Good looks and performance, love it
Cons: (No data provided)
Overall review: Nice car, I won't get rid of it, performance upgrade market is huge. I would recommend a Mustang GT to anyone.
