this is a nice quality car by LeeAnn, Meadville PA on 03/03/2009. Trim: 2005 Ford Taurus SE, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: i love the dash, i can push a button and check my engine for any problems. i also love how roomy it feels on the inside without feeling like i am driving a big car. also, since it has really good safety ratings, it is cheap on my insurance and i am under 30.
Cons: can't turn off the passenger side air bag for my 10 year to sit up front
Overall review: i really love this car.

A Good Buy by Driver from Prescott, Ontario on 06/13/2011. Trim: 2005 Ford Taurus SEL, Owned 6 years.
Pros: As an entry level to economical mid size sedan the Taurus is capable. The car has an attractive appearance overall but lacks the pinache it should for such an obvious contender for what could have been a refine vehicle. Interior noice and size is adequate for most drivers and the comfort on the highway while don't excellent is superior to most in its class.
Cons: The old addage "Found On Road Dead ... FORD" holds true to form The car experiences rapid shifting and the transmission is prone to slipage leading to failure. Like any car I suppose the filter should be changed regularly. I recommend syntetic oils for lubricant as they seem to disapate heat alot better allowing the car to run cooler. I have notice an increase in fuel economy with the synthetic fluids.
Overall review: As for new Taurus too expensive but "wow' ford did an incredible job as for used it will make a fine addition to any household looking for this type of car.

2005 Taurus SE, 3.0 Vulcan by joelrick on 12/23/2009. Trim: 2005 Ford Taurus SE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: There is plenty of leg room in the front and enough head room for me to wear a fedora (I'm 6'-5"). There is plenty of room in the rear and trunk. Very easy to steer and ride is good on highways. On city and industrial roads the ride is acceptable. The best feature is the throtle response and idle. Speed drops off immeddiately but not so much that I have to put my foot on the gas to maintain momentum. In parking lots I don't have tohave my foot on the gas to manuveur. If you perform your own maintainance and repairs parts are cheap and can be found anywhere. If you don't then just about any independent repairshop should be able to handle them.
Cons: As this was a rental fleet vehicle interior fit and finish leaves much to be desired. The passenger side air bag cover was popping it's seams when purchased. The passenger side A-pillar started to come loose soon after purchase. Fuel economy could be better, I avg. 16.4 mpg in 50/50 city/hwy driving.
Overall review: This car was purchased with 25,000+ miles in Feb 2006 and is currently at 93,000 miles in Dec. 2009. Maintainance so far has been oil and filter changes, transimission flushed this past summer, and replaced two bulbs. The transmission slips when going from first to second if the engine is pushed hard (this happened when I underfilled the transmission after draining). This is a good car if you want to step up from a 4 cyl. to a 6 cyl. or you need more room but don't have a lot of cash.
