Modern competition for the Euro-exotics

Pros:
Styling is fabulous. Fit and finish terrific. Sounds incredible - proper race car soundtrack. While some complain about the retro look of the interior (and entire package), that's a big part of the appeal. Upgraded enough to provide the features one expects, while looking "right."
Cons:
Cooling and suspension problems, but it's a new exotic, so some issues to be expected. Otherwise perfect.
Overall review:
This car is a wonderful retro/modern item. It's fast, efficient, clean, and good looking. The dealer pack is prohibitive, but that's what the market bears, and it beats $1M for the F60 Enzo. The lack of some of the Corvette modernities, is a nod toward the traditional basis of the car, and toward the owners as generally guys who remember the GT-40 from their youth, and have hit a point where they can afford one. It's an exotic, not an "everyman" car. The Corvette approaches that, and is a great car, but is still a high-end limited production car. You have to judge the Ford GT against its objectives, and it hits those spot-on. If you want a Euro-exotic, they're out there. But this is an American exotic, and should stand up well. I expect the critiques of the new Shelby to be equally harsh, but take it as what it is - a throwback to the musclecars. It should be a terrific upgrade while staying in character, and that's what the Ford GT does. If you don't like it, don't buy it.
