Pros:
I bought this car the first week it was available in 2004. It has been fantastic. The fold down from seat allows me to carry lumber up to 11.5 feet in length. The gas mileage has been 24.5 on the highway and 20 in town. The steeriing(electronic) is wonderful. I would not have another car with the traditional steering. I have over 105,000 miles and it has caused me no problem.
Cons:
Turning radius is poor.

Cons:
- Head Gastket blown after 58,000km... that's KM not Miles!!! co$t 2,500 CA. to fix.
- ¢heapo Paint i$ $tarting to fall off!!... will ¢o$t 400 to repaint!.
- ¢D ¢hanger i$ not operational anymore ¢d$ get $tu¢k! will ¢o$t 300 to fix.
- $eat$ are made of ¢heapo material$ al$o fading out and ripping... dunno how mu¢h that will ¢o$t!
- I ¢ould go on and on... but we'll $top at that!...
Overall review:
I am very well aware that all ¢ar$ have moving part$ that will deteriorate and eventually break and need of repla¢ing, with that $aid I $hould be able to drive a ¢ar for a good amount of kilometer$ before thi$ happen$, not drive 58,000km and have mayor repair needed all be¢au$e GM de¢ide$ to in$tall ¢HEAPO ¢hine$e part$ in all their ¢ar$.
I really $ugge$t you go Import... I know I know I am tra$hing the ¢hine$e part$... but we are talking Japane$e here!!!... mayor differen¢e! right?.

JUST A WARNING TO ALL EQUINOX OWNERS, CHECK YOUR COOLANT OFTEN. WE PURCHASED OUT EQUINOX NEW IN 2005, HAD IT TO DEALERS SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO COOLANT EVAPORATING, DEALER CHANGED COOLANT HOSES, AND PUT FRESH ANTIFREEZE IN. THE WARRANTY IS OVER AND I HAVE A $2000.00 REPAIR BILL, THE HEAD IS CRACKED, SO ALL THIS TIME THE ANTIFREEZE WAS LEAKING OUT. DID RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS LIKE GM KNEW THERE WERE ISSSUES CONCERNING THE COOLANT, AND DID A RECALL BUT RECALL WAS ONLY GOOD FOR GM VEHICLES TO 2003. THERE ARE ALSO POSTS FROM OTHER EQUINOX OWNERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES, ALSO DRIVERS WINDOW IS SLUGGISH AND CD PLAYER JAMS OFTEN.TOYOTA, HERE I COME.

Piece of Junk the worst product that Chevy has produced.

Pros:
The only things that I like about the vehicle are the fog lights and the heated front seats.
Cons:
The dislikes are repeated trips to the dealer for repairs. Being told that I am imagining all the noises that I hear. This is the first vehicle that I have owned that has required so many major repairs in a little over 2 years. Items that have been replaced include steering control arms, starter, onstar, and now something with the AC system. The vehicle sounds like the wheels are going to fall off when riding on a bumpy street. But I know its my imagination!!!!
Overall review:
Don't buy it!!! This vehicle costs over 27K two years ago and now that I have decided to get it rid of it is only worth 14K and my vehicle is loaded every option but side airbags. The exterior is in excellent shape. The interior is the cheapest I have ever had all the painted surfaces and there are a lot of them scratch very easy.
