The best commuter high on mpg low on maitenance by Master Auto tech Northern Washington State on 02/03/2009. Trim: 1997 Ford Aspire 2-Door, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Bought for $1500 with 55k miles I now have almost 100k Hualed a chrys. 318 v-8 in the back. Drive 60 miles round trip to work every day. I average 35mpg for the year. besides tires and oil change no maintenace. great car easy to drive I taught my teenage daughters how to drive a stick with it. It's affectiotaly known as the EGG
Cons: I'm 6 foot 2inch and 250lbs it's a little tight and the seats are very uncomfertable.Dents very easy. Typical ford yellowing plastic headlight lense. Pass seat hard to move fwd for rear passg.
Overall review: Overall EVERYONE whos every driven it really likes it for a city runabout or a Island runner I live on Whidbey Island in northern washington state. Not a long distance car but overall the best fuel milage of anything out there and extreamly easly and low cost to maintain. Most people are pulling 40mpg or more Mine needs a O2 sensor then Id pull alot higher. The best car for commuting and does well in the snow (must have studded tires though)

Great little car! by M.E. Iowa on 04/03/2008. Trim: 1997 Ford Aspire 2-Door, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great on gas! Comfortable riding for a little car and roomier than it looks! Great to have a hatchback with the seats folding down, can haul things!
Cons: Don't like the body, dents easily.
Overall review: I bought my little car from a guy that drove it 80 miles a day to and from school. I've owned it a year next month and have had to do nothing to it since I've owned it except for change the oil and it has over 130,000 miles on it! Been the best car I've ever owned.

The Go Cart by Kev from Middle of Nowhere, IL on 07/28/2004. Trim: 1997 Ford Aspire 2-Door, Owned 4 years.
Pros: great cheap little car, very reliable. Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
Cons: Body made from very cheap metal, dents very easily. Small gas tank. Need to refuel frequently, even though it gets good gas mileage
Overall review: If you need a cheap little car to get you from point A to point B, this is it. Its definitely no frills traveling, but its reliable. Have had no major problems. The car has 130,000 miles on it now and the only things that I've had to spend money on is tires and oil changes. Hit a deer doing 55 mph and was able to drive away unharmed (killed the deer). That was a year ago and it is still running strong. It doesn't look the prettiest, but its paid for and it runs.
