Must have! If you can't afford it new, buy CPO! by 614Banker on 06/08/2010. Trim: 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE, Owned 2 years.
Pros: The ride, engineering, finesse and class, exterior design, interior design, color scheme, exclusivity (yeah, I'm vain), monocoque body structure! Too much to pen at this moment.... Go test drive one and you'll be able to understand what I mean. It is like not other SUVs in the high end category. NONE, whatsoever! Drive a Range and the Lexus LX, Porsche Cayenne, Caddilac Escalade, BMW X5, Mercedes GL and other high enders become insufficent. The Range simpliy has the complete package.
Cons: Gas mileage could be better, but it is what I signed up for when I bought a Range. Expensive parts and labor costs, but it goes back to the fact that if you're gonna own a Range, you have to know all these things and accept them as part of owning the most exclusive and prestigeous SUV in the world(The Queen of England and the Royal faily drive them). Just make sure you buy a third party extended warranty if your car runs out of warranty. Normally runs under $2,500 with $0 to $100 deductible for 3 to 5 years. It varies.... there are some good offers out there. Check for BBB certification etc for credibility. Do some research and check out RR owners/enthusiasts forums. It's not expensive...
Overall review: The exterior design is OUTSTANDING! And this is comlemented by an interior that is unmatched for a high end luxury SUV. The V8 engine is matched with the vehicle to the point where driving it and auto shifting the gears is totally seamless. Powerful engine that shows up well on highways. Afterall, it is a BMW product, nuff said! The vehicle's monocoque body structure gives you this very SOLID feel; especially at high speeds. Very easy to overspeed without noticing... so there's a caveat to the lead footed amongst us. No screeching or other noises indicative of body wear and tear after 100K+ miles. Try driving over a pot hole or bad roads in a Range and you'll see what I mean. The suspension is also great as well as the color combo: In my case, silver exterior on tan interior. Get complements and stares in traffic all the time. To be honest, I have to shamelessly admit that I like the attention and admiration I get from others. Kinda vain, but I am being totally honest in this review.

Original Icon best of the best. by Jason Parker Dallas on 04/05/2008. Trim: 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE, Owned 4 years.
Pros: it's design is iconic....fit and finish for "hand crafted woodwork" is superb....handling is great if in a fast turn you can get comfortable with the leaning feeling before the suspension stiffens up, just like the classic RR model. I can comfortably take a 35 onramp ar 60. The 03-04 BMW sourced parts and engineering are far superior to the newer models. the 05 ford f150 stepped front bumper was the firt mistake, and then the switchwork and control knobs became cheap plasticy. Nothing even comes close to its off road capabilities, I have taken the LR class, it'll blow your mind.
Cons: I would have liked to have gotten the the next generation dvd based nav/sirius/bluetooth module before the sale hand off to ford the 05. X5 got it and RR updateable to the mark4 module. the lean into a corner at hign speed takes getting used to, once you do its a very competent performer. I also would have liked th headlights to be automatic. All the features on the 06 BMW x5 are plug and play updatable.
Overall review: If you can afford it, it's the best of the best, if you cant "buy a used one." modern clasic influenced styling is an icon. 03-04 quality engineering and parts are second to none being from BMW. If you've ever owned a BMW you'll know what I mean. Has overcome its problematic reputation. This is a drivers Truck, on road performer if you "get to know it" and unmatched offroad by anything even thos wanna be mail truck or military vehicle look alikes. Perfect balance since 1970! Amazing history and legacy. definately The Original.

There is no better! by CPTROVER on 02/18/2008. Trim: 2004 Land Rover Range Rover HSE, Owned 2 years.
Pros: The Range Rover is the best REAL truck on the market if you want the best in luxury. It is a phenomenal off-road vehicle, great to tow a race trailer or boat, and works great as a family hauler. The Range Rover CPO program is also the best that I have ever experienced.
Cons: The only con that I can think of is the fuel economy as I get on average 15MPG with an equal amount of city and highway miles.
Overall review: After owning for the past 13 months, I would definately recommend this truck.
