The Ram's Little Son by Ron on 11/23/2004. Trim: 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT Quad Cab 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Very comfortable to drive. I've only had my Dakota for 6 months but so far have not had a single problem, even on a 3,000 mile trip. Gas mileage on my V8 is 16.5 highway, 13.2 city. I've owned V8s in the pass and find this mileage about average. The Dakota gets up to speed quickly with only a very slight hesitation if it has to downshift for more speed. Braking is far superior to my last vehicle which was a Ford product. I bought a model with the chrome package and am happy with the appearance. The 17" chrome wheels put me a little higher than most other vehicles giving me a good view of the road around me.
Cons: The middle person in the front seat of the bench seat model has an uncomfortable ride because of lack of leg room and a hard back on the fold-up center console. The truck has a slight sideways drift at high speed on a bad washboard road or railroad track on a curve. It corrects itself quickly without fishtailing too bad. Has a small snaping noise in the frontend when turning hard while going up an incline.
Overall review: This is my second Dodge truck and gets a thumbs from me. In my opinion if you want a full size truck buy a Ram, if you don't want full size then Dakota is your choice.

Dokota 2003 issues by Andrew on 01/18/2004. Trim: 2004 Dodge Dakota SLT Plus Quad Cab 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: 4.7l engine delivers plenty of power to transmission.
Cons: Interior seats are not well constructed. Have fabric bunching problems on rear seats. Leak holes in bed for drainage are too small. Consistent problems with CV joints on left side.
Overall review: Truck performs well in offroad conditions but tends to sway too much in offset rough conditions.

Excellent Truck by Daniel on 02/15/2013. Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Last week bought the SXT V6 Dakota. It has plenty of power and alot of fun to drive. Also the little silver truck looks very sharp and after 117,000 miles it feels like a very solid truck. Suspension is really smooth and am impressed with the manuverability of the steering. I feel very comfortable in the cab unlike my past Ford Ranger that felt cramped. Heat is excellent, it has strong fans that really pump out the hot air.
Cons: Wish it got better gas milage but it isn't a big deal because I live in town and work in town.
Overall review: I would recommend this truck to anyone that is looking for an affordable, reliable and comfortable little truck.
