Great Car by SAN on 10/12/2012. Trim: 2004 Toyota Camry Standard, Owned 8 years.
Pros: We bought this vehicle new in 2004. We had a 1998 Volvo that, while safe, was terrible in the snow and very expensive to fix. This toyota has been nothing but great. We JUST put new brakes in after 8 years of driving, new battery 1 and that is it. Would buy another if I had the money.
Cons: Nothing except for that fact that we see a lot of older people driving the same car. My daughter always says, "If you had just waited one year we would have a different style!"
Overall review: Great, reliable, good on gas, safe.

Smooth Ride by KBD Cleveland on 10/07/2012. Trim: 2004 Toyota Camry XLE, Owned 8 years.
Pros: Quiet, smooth, rattle free ride. Drives more like a very expensive car than one of this price range. Only a few minor problems like the water pump had to be replaced (while under warranty). Everything else were normal wear and tear things like brakes, lights and the battery.
Overall review: I bought it new after my '91 Camry was destroyed in an accident after running trouble free for thirteen years. That car was built like a tank, but this one is holding up just as well after eight years and 80,000 miles. I think my good luck with these cars is that they really are are well engineered, well made, and I make sure to change the oil etc. according to the Toyota maintenance schedule (not the dealer's schedule, where they would have you coming in every other week for something).

Total Toyota believer! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/04/2010. Trim: 2004 Toyota Camry LE, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I love my Camry's reliability. Bought used 3 years ago- it now has 75,000 miles on it and I've paid for NOTHING except the ordinary maintenance you would have to perform on any car (oil and filter changes, new wiper blades, stuff like that.) Comfy to drive for a medium-sized person. I've had NO noises, NO odors, NO real troubles, and GREAT gas mileage. This is a great choice if reliability is what you appreciate most in your car. If you want a racy sports car, this isn't for you...but I'd still get a Toyota of some kind.
Cons: The paint is thin and will probably become an issue here in the Rust-Belt long before any mechanical failures take place. As other reviewers have said, there indeed IS a hesitation on acceleration at certain lower speeds- it is at the absolute worst a minor glitch, and you rapidly become accustomed to this bit of "character" that's apparently part and parcel of the model year. It is what it is. Seriously, just get over it, and you'll have a car that will get you where you're going each and every time.
Overall review: There's a REASON the domestics are trying to claim they're "just as reliable as Toyota and Honda"- it's because they're just now trying hard to be what Toyota already is and has been for many years. 1986 Corolla: Sold to a friend and still on the road. 1988 Toyota Truck: "Totaled' in an accident at 165,000 miles and still running strong at that time. 1995 Corolla-parents still driving. 2000 Corolla- inlaws still driving and perfect condition. 2004 Camry- great at 75,000 miles. Daughter bought a Yaris last year, and DH traded in his domestic truck last night on a 2006 Tundra.

Florida by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/05/2009. Trim: 2004 Toyota Camry SE, Owned 2 years.
Pros: The ultimate used car purchase. If your looking for a solid reliable second car, this is it. Stick with the 4 banger instead of the six. Gas is only going to go up and this one has plenty of power and is very easy to work on. Good looks (SE) and lots of room. Inside is simple with no fancy gadgets to break down. Excellent value for the money.
Cons: Grampa looking dashboard.
Overall review: Now I know why GM and Chrysler are... This car is simple in every way... and it does everything it should except break down repeatedly. Reliability means everything these days. Who wants to shell out 2 grand to fix a tranny or engine? You won't go wrong with one of these.

GREAT TIME MACHINE by An MSN Autos Consumer on 06/04/2014. Trim: 2004 Toyota Camry XLE V6, Owned 10 years.
Pros: Smooth ride, luxury, quiet, comfortable. Cheap on low maintenance. Extremely reliable. Handling. Excellent gas mileage. Interior has a larger cabin and trunk size is adequate. Engine runs smooth though have the bigger motor 3.3 V6. Real peppy.
Overall review: Bought new in 2004. I've owned Fords and Buicks but this was my first Toyota product ever owned it's a more reliable car. The seats are comfortable and love the smooth refined ride with good handling. Features standard with ''XLE'' has wood grain panel around dashboard and got 6disc CD changer. Camry is perfect on long trips easy steering in the road. Gas mileage 25/30 + mpg takes only $50.00 on fill ups. It's larger includes a roomier interior from plenty of leg/headroom being 6'' feet tall in my car. When driving this car feels like a luxury car to me although have ''XLE'' model it's a top of the line package have on Camry. Maintenance real cheap on it and do all regular oil changes every 3k miles using 5w30 Mobil 1 synthetic oil with mileage at 250K miles. I've had this car since new in 2004 still own it 10 years later with no issues. Drove rentals and sat in other newer cars but the Camry has a better ride and more comfortable than others rode in. It's a peppy vehicle.
