Perfect Car Beats the Imports hands down by Kody on 05/21/2009. Trim: 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS, Owned 5 years.
Pros: Power, Mileage, Price, Low Cost of Ownership, No problems ever. We have the 3.5L V6 plenty of power and 32 MPG The best car we've ever owned, We have 80k miles on it never had a problem. We just replaced the factory brake pads, amazing. We bought it new.
Cons: The seat material is not a good color. Clean water leaves marks on it.
Overall review: Wonderful Car we will drive it untill it dies.

Big Mistake by Farmgirl from the North on 04/13/2009. Trim: 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan, Owned 2 years.
Pros: It handles well, the unlock feature on the doors (when you unlock once it only opens the driver's door-twice for all doors-three times for trunk), spacious back seat and trunk, fold-down seats (the passenger seat folds down, too), mpg display feature. I get great gas mileage with this car!
Cons: Where to start? This car has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. I thought it was just messed up from the last person that owned it, but I don't seem to be the only person having issues with this car. The trunk pop doesn't work, automatic door unlock doesn't work, gas gauge says constantly "low fuel," the driver's window got stuck a month after I bought it (luckily the dealer fixed for free), heater motor broke twice, the interior air filter is AWFUL-constantly dust inside, the brakes are awful on ice (they lock up all the time) there's an oil leak, the loud clunking noise the steering wheel makes, the headrests hurt. I'm sure there's more, but I've lost track & I'm out of room.
Overall review: I wouldn't buy it again. I shouldn't have to learn to live with that many quirks.

2005 Malibu, a hidden gem of fuel economy in a plain looking car by Eric - New Hampshire on 09/12/2008. Trim: 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LS, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I believe there are 2 real aspects of the 2005 Malibu that make it stand out. The car is great on gas. EPA rating of 25 - 32 does not give an accurate description at all. I get an average of 30 mpg in my Malibu, mostly secondary roads with a few stops here and there and about 40 mph speed. On the highway from a recent road trip I averaged 35 mpg. The combination of engine and transmission also seems to give a great amount of torque and acceleration. I love the power my malibu outputs.
Cons: The car has very uncomfortable head rests. It seems like all new cars have these head rests that are slanted forward. Although they may help prevent whiplash problems, they are horribly uncomfortable. The one huge problem I have with this car, however, is the stereo system. I have an iPod, and there are no good solutions to integrating it with the factory stereo. Also, with a nice six speaker system, you lose two when you use an aftermarket radio. Also the antenna (a few lines on the rear window) does not work well with an aftermarket radio. Chevy really should have considered auxillary input in the factory stereo.
Overall review: The 2005 Malibu I feel is a great car. It is a great mix of fuel economy and power. For the 3 years I've owned my Malibu, I haven't had any real mechanical problems other than an occasional doesn't start the first time (seems like the warm start algorithm is a little off). I have had some separation of the plastic seat back on the front seats, minor in my mind, and the dealership took care of me well. I mostly use my Malibu to commute to work, however I have taken it on a few roadtrips. I have driven a 2003 Malibu before, but the 2005 is considerably more powerful and has better fuel economy.

Vroom Vroom by JRS FAN on 07/12/2006. Trim: 2004 Chevrolet Malibu LT, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Everything. I love the way it hugs the road and handles. The steering is awesome. I love all the features, and safety equipment. The trunk space, head room, and leg room are great. It gets good gas mileage, but still has vroom.
Cons: I can't think of anything so far, had it for over two years now.
Overall review: Awesome car and excellent buy.
