Not a Better Sports Car for the Money by TEF on 12/20/2010. Trim: 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Having owned front-wheel-drive station wagons and minivans over the years, the "Z" was the sports car I always wanted - and I am not disappointed. It was virtually brand new when acquired in 04 and, aside from fuel fillier hose recall, the "Z" has been flawless. It's an incredable combination of handling, power, great styling and reliability. In fact, I cannot think of another car in its price range that comes close. Even more surprising is the cars relatively low fuel consumption especially at a steady highway speeds - almost 30 mpg.
Cons: Much has been said about its cheap interior and harsh ride. However, for all the car offers, consider the hard plastic interior a necessary compromise. I am sure the Boxter has a much better one, but I could never justify the acquisition and long-term maintenance costs of a Porsche. As for the ride, it can be attributed in part to our taste for 18" rims. I notice the car is smoother on 17's, but, of course, they lack the bling of larger rims.
Overall review: Each spring when the "Z" is removed from storage, it's like a new car. I never tire of the car's precise steering and rear wheel drive. Relative to a front-wheel drive station wagon the contrast is even more pronounced. Even errands are not that tedious, if one gets to use the "Z".

everything the legendary Z should be by 350rick on 01/17/2008. Trim: 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Owned 1 year.
Pros: the car looks great and is pretty unique on the road. i notice myself and other 350 owners kinda checking each other out, as if we're both insulted the other person has our car. the engine is strong and sounds great with the stock mufflers. it pushes you through the six, close-ratio gears quickly. the ratios are appropriate for most situations, with fourth working around town and sixth turning the engine at 3000rpm at 80mph. i get a good 26mpg on the freeway, 80mph average, and about 23-24 overall. the interior is focused on function and i love it for long trips. it has lots of info to give you the sense that this car is advanced and needs all this equipment.
Cons: the interior is spacious, but the fact that there's no back seat is a drag sometimes. the "trunk" is tiny as well, the compromise for the beautiful, true hatch-backed styling of the car. getting two bags of golf clubs in here is about it. forget an ice chest. the trunk is bisected by the rear strut tower brace... i think it's a good trade. everytime i get a long, swooping onramp, i don't care what fits in thr trunk.
Overall review: this is definitely a driver's car. there is room for two people, period. the owner's manual instructs that children under 12 should never ride in the car. it is a focused, fun and attractive car that requires a sacrifice to own and drive. the car is tight and responsive, a thrill to drive, but a bit of a work-out. my brother's bmw 330ci is more user friendly. but i am young and single, and i feel myself glowing everytime i approach it. the interior lights fade on, as if to greet me, and i drop into its soft leather seats, controls drop into my hands, and i am ready to assualt the freeway.

Factory Chrome Z by Shane from Birmingham on 08/21/2005. Trim: 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Very attractive exterior and after owning several sports cars THIS ONE IS THE MOST FUN TO DRIVE.
Cons: I have had problems with interior wear. I know you have heard it a thousand times before but the car has poor visability when attempting to back up.
Overall review: This is a sports car. I EXPECT poor rear visability and less attention to the interior. I love my car and would recommend it to anyone looking for a two seater sports car but not able to spend Carrera 911 money.
