Rust bucket by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/31/2009. Trim: 2004 Mazda Tribute LX 4WD, Owned 5 years.
1
Pros: Very few driveline problems
Cons: The throttle sticks after a recall call to the throttle cable. The dealer says it needs a throttle body. Biggest problem is rust on the tailgate where the trim above the license plate rubbed thrpough the paint. Mazda said it was an environmental issue. Rust now around the rear wheel openings. Not even going to bother with Mazda or the dealer.
Overall review: Don't buy one if you want something to last and look nice.

It's all good! by D. on 08/15/2004. Trim: 2004 Mazda Tribute LX 4WD, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: Went like a champ through a Montana blizzard. We had to spend the night since the roads were closed, but this SUV could have brought us home!
Cons: No power passenger seat.
Overall review: This is my first 4-wheel drive and I'm sold. It rides nice, handles well, and is overal VERY cute I think!! Perfect for 4 people and groceries!! Excellent trip vehicle for a couple people.

MY SUV by BUSHDOW on 07/31/2004. Trim: 2004 Mazda Tribute DX, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: A lot of SUV for the money. I enjoy the smoth ride. The engine is very peppy 2.0 Liter engine. The manual transmission shifts very easy.
Cons: The seats aren't very comfortable. ABS brakes would be nice.
Overall review: Great SUV

Great SUV by Kathy, Arlington on 02/20/2004. Trim: 2004 Mazda Tribute LX 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: I went from driving a CamaroZ28 with 285 HP to this SUV and the transition was relatively painless. It has a lot of pep, and is fun to drive. Handles great in the snow.
Cons: I have the automatic (my first automatic) and it seems to shift oddly at lower speeds. This is only a minor annoyance and does not take much away from the overall appeal of the car
Overall review: Great little SUV. Lots of room, lots of pep!!
