"High Maintenance Luxury Sedan" by Bill from Tennessee on 05/13/2011. Trim: 2004 Cadillac DeVille Sedan, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Very comfortable ride. Great mileage. Like style.
Cons: My third Cadillac and my second Northstar engine. Both leaked oil and of course the engine has to come out of the car to be fixed. The 2004 leaks oil from the crankcase, around the timing gear and water is leaking from the water pump gasket. The dealer estimate to fix these problems is $3800. Before that estimate replaced both valve cover gaskets because of oil leaks. Before you buy this car purchase a warranty and make sure it covers oil leaks. If it is a Northstar engine it will leak no matter year model you purchase.
Overall review: Great car but very high maintenance after new car warranty expires.

Pros: Lots of power and it's huge
Cons: I just hit 68,000 km and the back shocks are leaking and the transmition is starting to have prolonged shifts.
Overall review: Other than the recent problems, I love having a big car like this. It's like driving a lazy boy

Big strong car by Gordon from Anaheim Hills, CA on 11/26/2013. Trim: 2004 Cadillac DeVille Sedan, Owned 9 years.
Pros: For a 10 year old car it looks modern and new. People still comment to me how good it looks and ask the year,.... which surprises them. Because of oil leaks, I got a new Cadillac engine from Cadillac at 100,000 miles. i now have 141,000 and still going strong. I have not thought of selling it right now. P.S. I am 81 years old and this is it!
Overall review: People that ride with me comment on the width and the heaviness feel of the car. I like a big, strong car. When i was growing up in Pasadena, CA all retirees had new Cadillacs. Good enough for them it is good enough for me.

Buyer beware - I hope you like paying for repairs! by Silverback from Metro Detroit on 08/13/2013. Trim: 2004 Cadillac DeVille Sedan, Owned 7 years.
Pros: looks very nice and very roomy.
Cons: Quality is very poor for a vehicle that is supposed from GM's top of the line fleet.
Overall review: Quality is very poor for a vehicle that is supposed from GM's top of the line fleet. I am very good about taking care of my vehicles and maintaining them properly. Too many problems occurring after warranty expires. All of the window regulators, air ride system, wheel bearings, axle bushing, turn indicator in drivers mirror, multidisc CD player, fuel pump, rear calipers, and EGR, replaced between 37k -52k miles. I mostly do freeway driving but the Transmission had to be rebuilt at 82K. Battery replacement expensive -mounted under the back seat. Starter replacement expensive- mounted under intake manifold. to replace an $80 starter cost over$400.. I'm done with GM.
