2004 Grand AM, a pleasant surprise. by Phillip K, Tucson AZ on 12/19/2004. Trim: 2004 Pontiac Grand Am SE Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I like the exterior & interior style of the Grand AM. The acceleration of the vehicle surprised me, very quick for that class of car. Car seems relatively smooth and i was a Lincoln Mark VIII owner before this vehicle.
Cons: The car could be wider and more leg room in the back seat.
Overall review: Very satisfied with my purchase, slightly concerned about owning the car for years. Will it hold up?

Overall review: My overall review is that my car is great! With any new car it will have initial problems, but if they get worse then there is no need to reccomend it to others.

Good bargain value with some bad issues by Stefan, Timmins, On on 06/15/2013. Trim: 2004 Pontiac Grand Am SE1 Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Cheap repairs, very durable V6 engine, Good acceleration and stopping power. Wide wheelbase makes turning a breeeze, huge trunk with sliprear backseat.
Cons: Really awful assembly. Common Turn Signal Indicator defect and broken Power window track are annoying and add up to expensive repairs. Cheap plastics everywhere. Spoiler shrinks the rear view. Gas consumption is dissapointing
Overall review: I have a history buying poorly made Pontiacs [Montana, Sunfire x2] and this one didnt disappoint. Bought it for 1500, Road ready for $500 extra. This is NOT a well made car, Beware of cheap plastic everywhere and look for breaking parts [mentioned the power windows and turn signal but also door handles]. BUT what you DO get is a very rugged engine and body, combined with decent handling, and loads of space. It handles well for its size with the V6 [it carries all my hockey+baseball+soccer+cricket gear in the trunk alone!] Does the highway grind lovely. MPG is average to poor [20-23]. Styling is better without the ugly side molding on the earlier GrandAms. So If you can bear with the defects this is a great find that can handle the bumps and bruises of poor maintenance for a third of the cost of a similar Camry/Accord/Elentra. Just don't expect to impress the Ms.
