Great mid-sized crossover SUV! Luxurious ride for the price! by OldHippieDude on 03/14/2011. Trim: 2003 Nissan Murano SL AWD, Owned 8 years.
Pros: Very, very comfortable ride; soft but firm enough suspension. Love the intuitive AWD. Drove in a blizzard (a real one) in Tulsa and got around just fine, locked in 4WD. GREAT TRACTION and good undercarriage clearance. Very good 3.5, V-6 power with impressive acceleration! The attention to detail interior and exterior is also impressive up to and including the problem free moon roof. Low highway noise. Love the leather upholstery. Front and passenger seats have almost limitless power settings for comfort and posture. Engine sounds as new and still burns or leaks NO oil or any fluids. At nearly 100K, the tail pipes are still clean inside. It even still smells great inside!
Cons: Flimsy PVC (Plastic) undercarriage skid plates. NO steel! It's hard on brake rotors, but brakes DO work well! Had to replace wheel bearings at 97K. Keep it waxed or it will rust prematurely around the fenders. I learned this from a different Nissan (XTerra).
Overall review: Overall, I'm happy. I highly recommend it for what it purports to be; a crossover, mid-sized SUV. But, it may not be for everybody. Very durable, all things considered. MPG about 20, combined. Range is well over 400 miles. Leather upholstery is posh. No problems with squeaks or rattles.

Great Luxury for the Price! by Andrea Caceres on 04/03/2007. Trim: 2003 Nissan Murano SL AWD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great looking car! So smooth with the CVT, took a while to get used to. The interior is awesome and great looking. Everyone who drives it, or sees it compliments on how awesome it is! Very very luxurious. Feels like an Infiniti.
Cons: The Bose system sounds great, but does have its kink, the mids and highs for some reason turn off at times when the CD player is played, quite annoying. Need for premium gasoline, and the lack of range in the A/C vents as far as aiming them goes. Engine, a little noisy.
Overall review: Awesome! My first "luxury" car and I adore it. My husband bought it for me, and I tell him everyday that I love it! Great passing power, great engine, super comfortable and roomy. Fun to drive!

Best Looking SUV by "Mister" from Georgia on 05/21/2005. Trim: 2003 Nissan Murano SL 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Look is awesome, Ride is great and for a SUV the handling is best of many SUV's I've Driven. (My Wife Owns Acura MDX) I love driving My Murano over hers. I thought the MDX was the best until I drove and purchesd the Murano. Plenty of room for 4 passengers over 6' tall. Plenty of compliments on appearence and roominess.
Cons: Very Bad Electronics.Had problems with the driver door locking me out,I still have problems with the auto headlights not shutting off in daylight and coming on later than normal,driver heated seat was not working correct and now it feels as if I'm being shocked. 3 months and dealer still has not called me about the replacement part. Indash 6 Disc Radio has been replaced 3 times (A Total of 4 Radios) And it still stops playing CD when in ALL RANDOM and also steering wheel controls go out that tells the radio to go back to previous song. Cruise Control intermitting,headlight switch in the OFF position,headlights tried to come on other morning when I was starting the car in the garage.
Overall review: Very nice vehicle for the class and price. With the touring package you get plenty of comfort and convenience. SL has the best compromise on ride and handling,smoother than the SE.

Best SUV Ever by Jack Bass - Tualatin, Oregon on 11/26/2004. Trim: 2003 Nissan Murano SE AWD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Very comcoftable, controls well placed. Very good ride, handles great. Great to have maps in dash display, and know where I am all the time. Distance to empty function a life saver. Tire pressure warning also a life saver. Unbeliable space inside, holds more than you'd think. Drove flawlessly through snow towing a trailer. CVT is a dream and gives power right where and when you need it.\;
Cons: City gas mileage is, frankly, terrible. Had steering problem from factory (repaired) and sometimes doors locked themselves (keep your keys on you). Navigation system poorly programed, will not route on all roads (Nissan should contract Microsoft or Delorme, they do this better). GPS has elevation capability that is not displayed on main map, this too needs to change. Maintenence warnings need to go off after first warning and not impose theselves in front of each mode change, once per trip is quite enough.
Overall review: For the most part you will get in this car and not want to get out. Goes almost anywhere and makes you feel good about it. Accelleration is like a jet aircraft, just keeps going faster and faster. You'll love this car.
