High-quality Reliable City Car by An MSN Autos Consumer on 06/19/2010. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Accent GL 4-Door, Owned 7 years.

Pros: This car has been very reliable; with routine maintenance and inspections, it has never left me stranded (at least not because of faulty design or bad parts). With easy driving habits and 80% highway driving, I often get 36 mpg with it. It's sporty, but don't expect it to race uphill; it's a perfect city car. It's fairly easy to work on. Components under the hood are generally readily accessible, and parts seem reasonable. Fold-down rear seats upgrade the utility of this car, making it able to move long boxes, furniture, and whatnot. Finally, the paint overall has kept its color and shine, despite being in the hot desert sun almost its entire life.
Cons: The transmission had to be replaced around 85,000 miles or so (but it was under warranty at the time); keep an eye on it. The brakes have needed service and adjustment almost annually for the past three years of so (now at 124,000+ miles). The door trim and side mirrors' trim have faded and lost their sheen. And in the back of my mind I wonder how safe it really is, since it's so small....
Overall review: This is a high-quality, reliable economy car great for city driving.

Great Little Car!! by Bullskin on 04/18/2009. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Accent 3-door, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros: Reliability, dependibility, low acquisition and ownership costs.
Cons: Resale, but then when I get a great little car like this I tend to hang onto it--I don't see too much better out there on the market.
Overall review: This is the best bang for your buck! This is one of the best little cars I have ever owned, trouble free and reliable! I have owned mine for 6 years, bought it new in 03, have 160,000 miles on it and it's still running strong. Got the oil changed every 3,000 miles and put 1 set of brakes on it--that's all!!! The Accent (mine is a manual) gives me a consistent 36 mpg. Nothing fancy but a virtually bulletproof little car

Zippy car by Susana from Miami, Fl on 02/01/2009. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Accent GL 3-door, Owned 6 years.

Pros: Great gas mileage, ample trunk space, small compact size (great for parking!), zippy little car.
Cons: A little noisy but you get used to it.
Overall review: This is a great size vehicle for everyday use. I have travelled cross country in this car and while it may not be the best (no cruise control) it was great on gas mileage. I love that this car is small and pratical, I can park just about anywhere easily. The trunk space on this car is incredible! Really you can adjust the seats which are 60/40 split to allow for more trunk space. I have put a huge 72 gal fishtank, closet doors and them some and been able to close the trunk (of course not all at once). The interior space is small but comfy, it can fit 4 adults perfectly. Drivers seat could use more cushion, but I added my own for lumbar support. In the almost 6 yrs that I have had this car I have only had to replace the tires and battery. The battery was replaced while under warranty free of charge and hyundai roadside assitance came out to give me a jump, also free. I have only ever done the 30k major service and standard oil changes. Next up is the 60k! Great value for the price!

Small but Big in so many ways by Jay-Jay from CLEVELAND on 04/22/2008. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Accent GL 4-Door, Owned 5 years.

Pros: I save soooo much money on gas that I kiss my car....LOL!!! I can fit into the smallest areas and parking spots. It's my first car and my monthly payments were very affordable. I've never really paid attention to how much MPG I get because I'm always on the highway. Not much of a local street driver but my gas last. I like how the trunk is big for it being a compact car. I'm not suggesting this for everyone else but I lasted not getting a tune up for 4 years.....you heard me correctly. My car didn't breakdown or anything it's just that my mother asked me when did I get one and I told her never since I've bought it....LOL!!! I haven't had any problems with my car.
Cons: The driver seat is uncomfortable. The steering wheel does not adjust. After 5 years you would think that I finally got it but I'm use to it now. Accelarating is somewhat slow but you should expect that due to horsepower not being that high.
Overall review: GET THIS CAR!!! It's worth every dime spent.
