A sports car for the family. by TonyJ on 05/07/2009. Trim: 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Sport, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Great acceleration and good ride. Very little mechanical problems.
Cons: Some blind spot visibility problems when revrersing. Igniton coils needed replacing twice, luckily both times under warrantee. Occasional spurious diagnostics show up. Not too economical on gas.
Overall review: Very good value motor car and would buy again if it wasn't for the mileage, considering the current trend towards more expensive gas. Will probably run this one into the ground tho'.

Shadow Grey Ghost by KC in AZ on 07/18/2012. Trim: 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Premium Sport, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Smooth power delivery, great handling, 50/50 weight distribution, good turning radius, comfortable ride, decent fuel economy- for a V-8, solid structure, THX audio, Nav, heated and cooled front seats. Strong brakes, moonroof, power adjustable steering column, and steering wheel mounted radio and cruise controls. Leather and wood interior trim.
Cons: 2 Coils failed during rush hour traffic. The Lincoln dealership replaced them and the two affected spark plugs (Gratis! For a 9 year old car). I replaced all 8 coils and spark plugs, and has been running fine since. Cooling system components are made of plastic, and cost big bucks to have repaired due to leakage, replaced the radiator soon after. The cost of new struts for this car. Mine are still good after 85,000 miles, but I always replace them on my used cars. Carfax report shows coils were randomly replaced by Lincoln dealers throughout the years the original owner had the car.
Overall review: (This review is for those looking to purchase used. Do the homework and know the trouble areas, as I did). Having always liked the LS, I am happy to finally have one. I never buy new, and found my '03 in great condition with relatively low miles for the year. The power, ride, and handling all contibute to a great drive. Love the THX, and my car has almost every option, including heated rear seats, foldable outside mirrors, and HID headlights, and everything still works. Other than the coil, and cooling issues, my car has been running very well since the repairs were performed. Be sure to have all systems checked, and have cash in reserve (parts are expensive) before purchase. Having had experience with an '06 Zephyr, and its superior reliability, my LS will in the future, be replaced with a used MKZ.
