Great Driving Car .... will keep driver with a smile
by Eric from Atlanta, Ga and Mill Valley, Ca on 02/26/2004.
Trim: 2003 Acura RL 3.5 RL w/Nav System, Owned 1 year.
2
Pros:
Don't use On-Star much, however; have used it twice to unlock car while engine running ... my passenger accidently locked car twice in 3 days.
Cons:
needs updated navi system that Acura/Honda put in MDX, TL, Accord ... i.e. voice activated and updated data base .... discovered noise when turning hard right at low speeds, Acura dealership in California fixed it the 1st time ... just a cross member bolt that was 3 torque lbs short of specs ... no other problems
Overall review:
Very happy with 3rd Acura/Honda product ... great motoring, have driven cross country from Atlanta to San Francisco and back twice for approx 11,000 miles of highway driving, comfortable seats, great for long rides as well as short hops around town ... considering buying another RL for my household

2003 Acura RL: Luxury that has not gone out of style
by David L; East Greenvlle, PA on 02/16/2013.
Trim: 2003 Acura RL 3.5 RL, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
I bought the car used, and ten years old, but it still drives well, and has given me no trouble although it has 131000 miles. The interior is comfortable, and has held up well over the years. Handling is great too, and I like how it looks.
Cons:
The gas mileage is lousy compared to my old Civic, and I know that repairs will be expensive. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about, although it is high mileage.
Overall review:
Good car, but don't spend more than $6000 on a used one, and as with any high mileage car, have it checked out before buying. I love mine and hope it holds up for another 100,000 miles.

RL = Real Luxury
by Jolga in Canada on 04/18/2004.
Trim: 2003 Acura RL 3.5 RL, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
I love the atmosphere in the car. It's like a sophisticated opera house on wheels. It never breaks and Acura service is Champagne class.
Cons:
It's so quiet and smooth you can get speeding tickets. Just got my first one in 30 years.
Overall review:
Buy one you will not be one of the lemmings that drives a Me-Too Whatever. When I meet another RL we wave and if possible have a chat.

PRECISION CRAFTED PERFORMANCE
by Zak on 02/07/2004.
Trim: 2003 Acura RL 3.5 RL, Owned 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Excellent ride, nice interior, well appointed features, ample power, pricesely tuned and a lot more. You have to drive it to believe.
Cons:
5-spd trans would be nice, very limited storage compartments.
Overall review:
This is the best luxury sedan in the market for the price. There is lot of room to negotiate the price with the dealership. The style is 5-6 yrs old yet it looks very modern and very attractive, I think it is one of the best in the market. Engine is so precisely tuned and balanced that its a pleasure to drive.... no tune-ups needed upto 100K. I would highly recommend this car who is willing to spend around 40K.

Would buy another Acura RL in a minute.
