Failure of the head bolt thread, causing major engine damage.
by Joe on 12/16/2012.
Trim: 2003 Toyota Camry LE, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
This vehicle is a great sedan all around performance vehicle but has a major design engineering flaw.
Cons:
This vehicle has a manufacturing defect that causes all the head bolts to strip. The threads in the aluminium block strip under normal driving conditions. The engine begins to leak antifreeze and overheats constantly. A complete failure of the engine follows.
Overall review:
Beware of Toyota quality, the quality of this brand has been deteriorated and the dealership is of no help. Reconsider your purchases.

Cons:

Pros:
Huge trunk, Leather is nice :)
Cons:
This Car has a VERY common problem with the intake manifold. I found this article while trying to find information on MY intake manifold problem online. I called dealer and they coverered 7 yrs OR 70,00 miles (CA emission control) which I am out of. It will be a $600 repair. :( Google :Toyota Camry Intake Manifold Noise" Tons of posts with the same problem. Good luck
Overall review:
