A Great Truck, by EC on 02/23/2012. Trim: 2003 Toyota Highlander 2WD, Owned 9 years.

Pros: Great Vehicle. It runs great and has performed well. Toyota makes really good vehicles. I would buy it again but I do not really need a bigger vehicle. Would most probably look at the Rav or the CRV for my next purchase.
Cons: The original OEM tires were dangereous in the Winter on snow and ice. When I replaced them with new BF Goodrichs T/A's the traction control improved by 100%. Be careful whn you buy a truck with car tires, they are like driving the vehicle with bald tires.
Overall review: I would purchase this vehicle again, but Toyota has now made it too large for my use.

An Outstanding, Reliable Vehicle! by Jeff in Minnesota on 12/16/2009. Trim: 2003 Toyota Highlander Limited V6 4WD, Owned 6 years.

Pros: Trouble free after 6 years and 75000 miles. The only work needed has been oil changes and regular scheduled maintenance. It handles well, is roomy and responsive. I will continue to buy Toyotas based on the performance of this vehicle.
Cons: No connection for ipod or external mp3 player.
Overall review: Outstanding, reliable vehicle. Will move to the Hybrid version when plug-in charging is available. Very roomy for a tall person with lots of room for passengers.

Amazingly tough by JoefromFlorida on 03/23/2010. Trim: 2003 Toyota Highlander 2WD, Owned 7 years.

Pros: Absolutely reliable. The rare 4cyl. gives us great gas mileage for an SUV. The four cylinder has VVT-i which maximizes the power available giving us V6-like performance. As comfortable as a Camry. Handles like a car.
Cons: Bland Styling. Steel Wheels do tend to get surface rust, like all steel wheels.
Overall review: This is one tough station wagon/ SUV! Although the Highlander isn't very useful off-road, its way better on the highway than all those large off-road SUVs, thanks to the independent suspension and lower profile. The four cylidner gives us great performance in the city and on the highway. We even drove from the Southern U.S. all the way to Canada, nearly 3000 miles, without any problems. I'm glad we bought the base four cylinder model because its been taking a beating and we expect it to continue taking a beating for years to come.
