Hands down, NO better car for the money! by Lance on 04/25/2004. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Excellent styling, even better price. This car does everthing it should and then some! Surprisingly enjoyable to drive at a
Cons: Well I must first provide a disclaimer, it IS after all a sub-$13,000 car! With that said, the suspension could be a little stiffer for spirited driving but is excellentlty smooth for day to day commuting on less than optimal road surfaces. But I'm probably not being fare because I'm comparing it to the BMW 5 series I owned in the past and most recently a Porsche... so really.. there's NOTHING to complain about!
Overall review: I've surprised MANY people with this car. Hyundai's slogan is SPOT ON,

Like the Product" but concerned about better quality. by Andrew from St Louis Mo. on 04/10/2004. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Good gas mileage, Suspension provides a decent ride, and there are lots of amenities for a car in this price range.
Cons: Had to make several trips back to the Dealer in the beginning! Transmission fluid was low [do to a defective washer]. Also felt vibration in brakes when exiting highway. [Rotors were out of spec and had to be turned]. Michelin tires were also not balanced correctly. and vaccum tube was knocking in the engine compartment under heavy acceleration. Hyundai did provide me with a loaner car and fixed everthing under warranty.
Overall review: Good car, good price, performs well, but also be prapared to make a few trips back for small problems. That does'nt mean the car is a lemon. I just think that Hyndai may be pumping them out just a little too fast, and the quality control guys are not keeping up with production.

Smart Buy! by HappyAsAClam on 02/22/2003. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Great value for the dollar. I was very impressed with the handling and ride of this car. I am 6'2" and I have plenty of room. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a great car for the money.
Cons: Could use a tad more trunk space, but not a huge problem.
Overall review: Value, value, value! For the money, a fantastic car with an unbeatable warranty.

Love Elantra..... Time to buy another by Susan in snow country on 02/17/2013. Trim: 2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS, Owned 10 years.
Useful?
Pros: This vehicle is extremely affordable. And practically maintenance free other than the typical things that you must do with all vehicles .... you know change the oil , put new tires on etc. It gets great gas mileage averaging about 32 mpg and I drive mountains and 75mph on the highways. The seats fold down which is a plus. You would not believe the things that I have hauled in this rig.
Cons: Clear coat is turning yellow. dash is cracking..... But the car is pretty old so thats to be expected.
Overall review: LOVE this car. I am the third owner of this warhorse. I bought it with 67k miles on it and it now has 280K ..I am NOT a gentle driver either... And she has never missed a day of work. I have had to put shocks , struts , a couple wheel bearings on a new battery, belts tires and change the oil...... but big deal...... try walking 210k miles and see if you don't have to have work done. And I will say another thing this car loves snow. She does better that 4x4s. I know because I drive 12 to 20K miles every year on snow and ice.
