by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/17/2006.
Trim: 2003 Saturn Ion Sedan, Owned 4 years.

Pros:
It saved my sister life. She got hit side on the driver side door that whole side was completely caved in. She should of been paralyzed or dead but lucky for my family she emgred un-hurt not a single mark on her.
Cons:
It shakes from side to side when its windy making it a little hard to handle.
Overall review:
Great safety features.

Buy something else
by SMB on 05/13/2004.
Trim: 2003 Saturn Ion Quad Coupe 3, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
The car has the right price tag and above average styling but that’s about it.
Cons:
The engine has a rough idle and has occasionally stalled. It’s been in the shop three times for this problem and still not fixed 100%. My seatbelt bracket broke off when I barely bumped it to put my kid in the back seat. Overall, poor performance and quality!
Overall review:
Don't buy it unless you need a cheap car payment!

Fun car to drive
by geogirl on 06/16/2003.
Trim: 2003 Saturn Ion Sedan 2, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Good acceleration; lots of head room and leg room in the front; large trunk; great turning radius; battery is contained in truck, making much more room under the hood for better accessibilty
Cons:
noisy engine, no cover on the passenger side vanity mirror, no option for center armrest, leg room in back is limited
Overall review:
I find this car fun to drive, and I especially think this car drives better than its predecessors.

Good medium sized car.
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 05/20/2013.
Trim: 2003 Saturn Ion Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
The fuel economy is great....am getting a solid 35 mpg and am pleasantly surprised by that. The trunk is huge !! I have grown used to the center mounted instruments, which allows for better view of the road. Generally speaking this is a decent car, even if it is a GM product.
Cons:
Dislike is a matter of perspective. Mine is a base ION 1, no frills except for AC. Dislike? Well, had to tweak the door seals with some RTV to shut down the wind noise, not a problem there. The front seats are too low, but when you realize the headroom is tremendous, maybe it is a perspective situation. I have no real complaints because I had no unrealistic expectations.
Overall review:
The handling is fine for average driving, I am no expert, but the car handles just fine. Took a bit of time to get used to the 'tiny' steering wheel. The noise is no worse than any other vehicle I have owned except for my SVX or New Beetle. The fuel economy is terrific, the vision is great. Generally a pretty solid car. I read a review that the seats stain even with water, which I can attest is true. The 5 speed manual shifts just fine. I replaced the radio/CD with a Nexus 7 tablet for my entertainment, it fits perfectly and looks factory. The engineering is outstanding.

I own a 2003 Saturn ION 2
by Marvin from Oswego on 11/10/2010.
Trim: 2003 Saturn Ion Sedan, Owned 3 years.
Useful?
Pros:
30-34 mpg city 40-45 mpg hyw Just as good or better than imports. 45.6 mpg at 60 mph
Cons:
I do not like small cars. They are like driving toys. But it's my wifes car & she likes it. I like big olds 98s.
Overall review:
Out side what the car is I like it. Almost 100,000 on it & it only had one set of brakes & one belt. So tell that to the imports.
