Thanks...but no thanks
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/30/2010.
Trim: 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C230 Sports Coupe, Owned 7 years.

Pros:
I like the styling and fuel economy is OK. The quality of materials is very high and the car is comfortable for two. Surprisingly little power for a 3.2 liter engine, but the handling is great.
Cons:
So EXPENSIVE to maintain and repair. Many mechanical problems (electrical issues galore, brakes, tranny suspension), as well as accessories. Check the panoramic sunroof prior to purchase, they are unreliable and pricey to fix ($2K+).
Overall review:
Owned 7 years and it was fun, but will never get a benz again.

Have driven 90,000 miles in One
by CoorsMan from Akron on 03/13/2004.
Trim: 2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C320 Sports Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
An incredible solid feel that I did not have with my last BMW ( an M3) Great brakes, good seats ( they feel too firm at first but after a day in them you'll understand that's the idea) Exterior styling is very nice, I like the family resemblence across the brand. Safety. Gas mileage is nearly 30 at a steady 60MPH
Cons:
the 240 could use another 25 horse and the 320 needs another 10-15. Like most German cars, you have to order a "package" when all you wanted was an "option". 320 needs more to remove it from the 240 visually. cup holder is great to look at but don't trust it for a minute! Maybe another 12v outlet
Overall review:
Well what do you buy for mid 30's that offers the styling, safety, and cache of the Benz? The dealer treats me like royalty every oil change ( 10,000 apart ) They jump to get things done when there is a problem and after 88,000 miles in the C240 and now a 2003 C320 ( horsepower was the only reason I moved up ) I see me driving the newer one up to nearly 90,000 also. Heh, there's a reason people say something is "built like a Mercedes"
