This car has been perfect for me, I used it to travel extensively across the states, up through Canada to Alaska. It is comfortable and holds a lot of stuff. BUT, see below.
Cons:
The transmission failed at 105,000 miles on a road trip. This transmission is a "sealed unit" and has to be replaced, not rebuilt. It was very, very expensive to get replaced at the dealer. If you own one of these, I recommend an extended warranty or sell it before the warranty runs out.
Bought used from a dealer w/62k miles in '07. V-6 has nice pickup, and interior room is decent for the size of the vehicle. Seats are a little too firm, but still very comfy, even with being 6'1". 4WD in a plus. Definetly worth the money. Would buy another one.
Cons:
Could use floor lighting, and lighting for ignition. Bought new tires last month, which helped with the road noise. Wind noise on the highway is still a little loud, but not too bad. Had a small leak problem with the radiator, but it was easily fixed. No other mechanical problems. Highway mileage could be better, but still good.
Overall Review:
Very good vehicle for the money. Would buy another one.
I have had this car since Sept '02. It has performed very well. Steering is still tight and the acceleration remains good. Leather seats and interior are still like new. Exterior still shines.
Cons:
I still do not care for the position of the gear shift.
Overall Review:
Good Value. Buy the Tribute. I may buy another one in three or four years.
No problems, great handling, good mpg for SUV, did I say no probems.
Cons:
Noise all but eliminated with new tires, nothing else bad to say.
Overall Review:
I traded a GMC Suburban for this little friend. I have nearly 100K miles on it now (2008) and never had a problem. Did get brake work at about 50K miles, which is normal, but I replaced with ceramic pads and the black mess is no more. I bought the LX on a special finacing program but had a third party add a moon roof and leather seats. Came with a 6 disk CD. Basically it is an EX. Love this little auto.
