ONE GREAT TRUCK by Tim from Washington state on 08/01/2009. Trim: 2003 Ford Ranger FX-4 Level 1 SuperCab 4WD, Owned 6 years.
1
Pros: The looks of this truck is great. I do not care for the changes they made to the truck in 2004. Reliability is the best, I would drive this truck anywere. I've owned this truck since new and have no regrets. It will be very hard to replace this truck whenever the time comes.
Cons: Fuel mileage is not to good. I have a 4.0 V-6 Auto. 4X4. I really don't drive for mileage though.
Overall review: If you can find this year of Ranger with low miles and in good condition you should buy it. My Ranger has been the best truck I've ever owned.

good basic truck by Jim from ky on 09/14/2008. Trim: 2003 Ford Ranger XL Short Bed 2WD - 311A, Owned 5 years.
1
Pros: I bought this truck new 5 years ago. the truck has been trouble free except for plastic components. the fuel shut off inertia switch failed at 110,000 miles. 20 bucks but left me sitting on side of road until i figured it out. at 130,000 the heater control valve failed leading to overtemp. caught it before damage done. 25 bucks to repair. at 135,000 the pressurized radiator overflow bottle failed. 75 bucks to fix. at 137000 the heater control valve failed again. no other problems at all. changed spark plugs and wires at 135000. still getting 28 mpg. the truck has been a work horse. basic 4 banger w no options. will definitely buy another.
Cons: one negative is poor to no traction. if the road is damp or icy you will spin tires.
Overall review: quality would be improved greatly if plastic cooling systems parts discontinued and metal parts installed.

Another Satisfied Customer! by Joe on 11/28/2005. Trim: 2003 Ford Ranger Edge SuperCab 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: Efficient and comfortable, not to mention cheap
Cons: The only complaint I have after 6 months of ownership is... when the windows are opened and there is any moisture on the vehicle it runs right down to the door handle where the power accessories are located. This has already caused my power mirror switch to short out. Not a huge problem by any means.
Overall review: Very happy with my buy.

decent for the money by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/18/2004. Trim: 2003 Ford Ranger Edge SuperCab 2WD, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros: It can tow
Cons: Slow pickup-no pun intended, hard to get into
Overall review: Overall good. Lacks punch, small space in the supercab area, hard to get into if you are a BIG guy.
