If You're Looking for Reliable Look No Further. by Radixlecti on 02/26/2009. Trim: 2002 Isuzu Trooper S 4WD, Owned 7 years.

Pros: This is my third Trooper since 1986. Loved each of them, amazingly trouble free. Great on and off road. Very nice on long road trips, comfortable, great cargo room.

Cons: Can't say I really like anything about the Trooper, gas mileage is just ok, I'm not a heavy footed driver anyway.

Overall review: Would recommend to anyone, sorry to see it's been replaced by the Ascender. Has a great warranty, but in 7 years I've only replaced the tires, (I got 75k miles on a 4-wheel drive vehicle) and a $50.00 sensor. You don't see many on used car lots because people buy them and hang on to them, myself included.

Best for the money off road. by Roger from New York State on 07/21/2002. Trim: 2002 Isuzu Trooper S 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Great off road, excellent visability (though not as good as the older Trooper). Lots of room inside.

Cons: Utilitarian inside, not as fancy as others in its class. Could use a little more power.

Overall review: This is my fourth Trooper. I drove all in its class before this one. The Trooper is the best if you are really going to drive off road. The Land Rover is as good off road, but underpowered. Great car, buy one before the design changes to the GM Envoy soccer mom style.
