Do-anything car
by Simon the Brit in LA on 07/07/2006.
Trim: 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe, Owned less than 1 year.
3
Pros:
Great fun for daily driving and for weekend roadtrips! The 2002 model has an uprated engine and improved interior, among other upgrades. The car is ready for anything right from the start: after I picked it up on a CPO warranty in May 2006, I took it to a trackday and the Silver State Classic in its first month.
As a daily driver, it's pretty comfortable and gets fair gas mileage of 21-23mpg commuting in LA and OC.
Cons:
It's got a little less headroom than previous models, and at 6'4" my hair sometimes brushes the roof. For trackdays, I have to move the seat forward and then tilt it back to get room for my helmet.
The gearbox is better than the 993, but still not quite as accurate as the NSX.
Overall review:
Great do-anything car: I commute, do road trips, and hit the track in the same car.

Fun in the Sun
by Wheelman on 06/05/2008.
Trim: 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
Handling and all wheel drive never felt better. A topless tanning salon at the push of a button. Fun and style packaged with four wheels. An expensive fantastic package that will make you feel young again.
Cons:
Minor window gremlins and an alarm that goes off at 3 am whenever the gremlins appear. Shifts are a little long but fixed with a short shift kit.
Overall review:
First Porsche car and definitely not my last Porsche. I am hooked. Love this car for its styling and engineering. A piece of art on the road. Everything fits me like a German hand tailored suit. Timeless beauty and forged by the Stuttgart Gods.

Super Car
by TheD on 12/08/2002.
Trim: 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
This car is very well built, has acceleration that throws you into the seat through all the gears without letting your head come back forward. It's not too flashy where everyone gawks at you whenever you take it out, but the enthusiasts and some dreamers know what it is and respect it. Beautiful all around car, good everyday driver.
Cons:
This $130K can be mistaken with it's $50k cheaper predesessor, or maybe even a Porsche Boxster....it could use a little more power for my taste....very average looking for such an expensive car, I like the gawking and want a car that screams get out of my way?
Overall review:
I give this car a 9 out of 10, brakes could be better...suspension and ride quality needs to be stiffer...interior needs some work....other than that, you are definately buying a super car....AWD, PSM, and 420hp of pure fun and andrenaline pumping machine....
