Super fun and problem-free car! by Fairmeadowfarm on 06/23/2003. Trim: 2002 Porsche Boxster Base, Owned 2 years.

Overall review: I've owned pretty much everything, from BMW to Mercedes to Jaguar. For a fun auto, the Boxster can't be beat. It's problem free. I love it!

Just Lovin' It by Shooter808 on 05/26/2009. Trim: 2002 Porsche Boxster S, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Gobs of space in the bonnet and boot, something you can't get in the Mercedes, Audi, or BMW. Handles like a go-kart with more than adequate power. The 6 speed is just plain fun, smooth shifting without any problems finding the gears. In a straight line the car will accelerates like a motorcycle. The car really shines in the turns and esses - the result of nearly perfect weight distribution. The exhaust tone is just intoxicating!
Cons: As you would expect from a German sports car, repairs are expensive.
Overall review: I've driven sports cars from Europe (BMW) Japan (Z, Supra) and the U.S. (Vettes, Z28) and those are like "grocery getters" compared to the Boxster S. I've owned mine for a little less than a year and I always look forward to the weekends when I can drive around Oahu with the top down. Though the car is 7 years old, people still walk up to me to admire the car and the timeless styling still turns heads as I cruise around town. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Boxster S to anyone looking for the ultimate roadster.

No Really... by Michael on 10/01/2002. Trim: 2002 Porsche Boxster S, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Styling is excellent. Still a head turner after 6 years with little change in styling. Handling is pure Porsche. The connection the driver feels with the road is unparalleled. Braking is phenomenal. 6-Speed geerbox feels great. Controls well placed, finally a cup holder. Dash gauges are perfectly designed and positioned. I have found the quality to very good, especially fit and finish. Good warranty.
Cons: Granted a Boxster would be a dream come true with about 320 horsepower. Porsche options pricing makes the Boxster expensive. Adding some must haves add up quick. Would have got a tiptronic if it had paddle shifters. The thumb rockers are not efficient.
Overall review: This is a daily driver. First off, I seriously doubt the people have given this car really low marks actually own one, especially those who promote purchasing some other model, most likely their favorite. If you are looking for a true sports car, that performs well, and is truly a pleasure to drive, I suggest you take one for a spin. Personally talk to some owners, get their opinion. It is not the fastest, or the cheapest sports car, but it is an incredible balance of performance, and styling. If you like to drive you will love driving this car.

Pure Fun, Pure Porsche by terryg8 in LA on 07/06/2006. Trim: 2002 Porsche Boxster S, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: First off, buy the S. You get 33 more horses and better suspension and brakes. This car is a blast to drive. It handles like nothing else around. It just plain holds the line in curves and jets out at the top. The braking is just awesome. The S has plenty of pep and torque. You really notice this above 4K RPM. The gears shift very smoothly and are easy to find. The styling is fantastic. Mine is lowered and has 18" Carrera wheels. Big $ but that is the look! I have a GHL Free Flo muffler. Great sound and more ponies. Change the intake to a high flo evo and you get really fast.
Cons: I have the Bose upgraded sound system ($1,800) but why? You can't hear it with the top down and it sounds pretty bad with the top up. Who cares, your suppose to be driving! It does sound great when parked. The ride is very stiff. You will feel the road in this car. I could not imagine doing a daily commute in this car. It would beat you up. It might be a pain on a long trip too. There is minimal trunk and storage space. You'd better travel light. Repairs are going to be expensive but the quality is there. Most of the used ones have the bugs worked out. MAKE SURE IT IS NOT LEAKING FROM THE REAR MAIN SEAL!!!
Overall review: If you are looking for a daily driver in a sports car, this is the wrong selection. Try a SLK or 320 SL or a Z4. If you are looking for a pure fast sports car to have fun in on weekends and if you like to get lots of thumbs up and smiling faces, this is the car!
