As much car for the buck as you can buy. by Al H., Colorado Springs, CO on 02/11/2011. Trim: 1992 Ford Taurus GL, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Engine has performed exceptionally and the car is almost 20 years old. It mas made in August 1991. The last couple of years it has required some maintenance I would expect from a car this old. It still rides comfortably and the interior is still classy. The styling still looks contemporary and it shines up like a classic. What else could you ask for?
Cons: Not much of anything.
Overall review: This has been the best car I have ever owned and I don't plan on getting rid of it. It saw 200,000 miles along time ago.

I would never recommend one. by eric, edmonton on 07/22/2010. Trim: 1992 Ford Taurus L, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Not Much!!!
Cons: Almost everything!!!
Overall review: I have owned my Taurus for 6 years and would not ever recommend them to anyone. The Taurus is an ok work car though. The transmissionsn are terrible, but the motors are strong and run forever.

Throw it in the ocean!! Please!! by Pamila, L.A. on 12/29/2008. Trim: 1992 Ford Taurus LX, Owned 1 year.
Pros: it was free, a free junk from my cousin
Cons: everything, it never had a working radio, the back window doesn't work at all, I wasted money on the brake system 2 fuel injector, CV boots and the Aircondition died in the summer of 2008, transmission sliped all the time. put almost $5000 on it, I sold it for $800 and finally got me a brand new Toyota.
Overall review: just buy a new car, like a Yarris, accent, or a smart for two, because your wasting money on a car that doesn't worth a thing, the velue doesn't go up and there allways to many problem. another thing Just Say No and save up for a new car, but If you allready have one don't fix it, just let it die and throw it away, and make shure you find the bus rout that will get you place, before it die, the car is good only for 25 days and then its over.

A So-So Car by Amber on 07/03/2008. Trim: 1992 Ford Taurus GL, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Very comfortable bench seats, lots of room for the size of car it is, big trunk, decent acceleration and braking
Cons: Cruise control & horn quit working the same time airbag light starting flashing, car wouldnt shut off - had to disconnect the battery! Shakes pretty bad around 70mph. Steering VERY loose. Tranny shifts hard. Whole front end of car rattles and feels like it is going to fall apart when going down bumpy road. Whoever designed the cup holders location was a genius - cant fit any normal size cup in them and when you can fit a drink in them. Cheap plastic molding on doors pretty much peeled off and now it looks terrible cause we couldnt get them back on. Electric windows switches only work for certain windows. Trunk doesnt stay up. CC comes on by itself even though it doesnt normally work
Overall review: Overall it is CHEAP, but you get what you pay for. Mine has lasted me over 2 years and now has almost 170k on it and is BARELY clinging to life. I almost WANT it to blow up just so I can be done with it. I wouldnt recommend a Taurus if you are looking for a vehicle that will last. Good starter car I guess - good crash test ratings. I wouldnt buy another one though.

259,000 and still going strong by Taurus1 on 08/25/2006. Trim: 1992 Ford Taurus L, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: comfortable ride, spacious front seat room, huge trunk, reliable when properly maintained- still running strong at 259,000 miles
Cons: not a whole lot of get up and go, no back seat leg room, transmission went out (before I owned the car)
Overall review: An extremely long lasting engine in a good sized comfortable car
